    The Importance Of Play

    The Importance Of Play

Play is one of the best things children can do with their time. In fact, pretend play has a role in language learning, as babies develop 'theory of mind' where they learn they have opinions, thoughts, feelings and knowledge separate and distinct to their parents. In this episode, we explore what makes babies tick and how understanding your baby's brain can help you get through the next toddler tantrum.

BanjoMat ,

A must listen to - to any parent and early childhood teacher

As a parent of a baby and three-year-old and an early childhood teacher it is a must to listen to! It has brought in more of my knowledge, my 3 yr old started speaking very early, and everyone always asked me why.... and this podcast answered all of those questions even for myself as why she spoke so young. Thank you for this it is very informative!

Interesting and helpful resource

Easily accessible information on early childhood language development. We’ve appreciated hearing about the latest research, and it’s helped us take home lessons to optimise language acquisition for our 16 month old who is learning 4 languages. Nice work WSU and Jamila!
