    The One Percenters- A Male Breast Cancer Experience with Phil Alderson

    Kris and Cass finally got to meet Phil Alderson, arguably the world’s most well-known male breast cancer survivor. Breast cancer is largely associated with women, but we often forget that men can also develop it. It makes sense when you think about it—after all, both men and women have breast tissue. Although uncommon, breast cancer in men accounts for about 1% of all breast cancer cases. In 2022, it was estimated that 212 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia. Men have much less breast tissue than women, and most of it is located behind the nipple. Kris and Cass were on the hunt for some male representation in this space, which is notoriously hard to find. But they found Phil, who has done incredible work advocating for awareness and bringing light—and laughter—to a space that can often feel grim and isolating.     Flab to Fabulous- An Interview with Damian (AKA Mini Bypass Guy)

    Kris and Cass hang out with Damian, aka "Mini Bypass Guy," who candidly and honestly shares his weight loss journey following a Mini Bypass surgery and subsequent procedures to remove excess skin. Although Damian hasn’t been diagnosed with cancer or undergone a mastectomy, he now lives in a body that feels fundamentally different from the one he was born with—a sentiment that resonates with many BCS listeners. In this episode, Damian reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of his weight loss journey without the polished filter we often see on social media. His mindset, attitude, and determination have transformed him into a young man full of confidence and self-love. You might just feel inspired to feel the same after listening.
