    #110 - Buckets, Boom Gates & Burnout

Buckets, Boom Gates & Burnout If everything in your life feels “equally important” and your business keeps winning by default, this episode is for you. Jill Olish and Kim White unpack their “buckets and boom gates” framework so you can protect what matters most without tanking your business. You’ll walk away with a simple way to see your life priorities clearly and put real guardrails around your time, energy, and relationships. What “buckets” are and how to name your own life priorities like health, family, marriage, faith, rest, and work you love What “boom gates” are and how they act like hard stops that keep your business from overflowing into every corner of your life Real examples of time, capacity, energy, and relationship boom gates you can borrow and adapt How Jill and Kim use their own buckets and boom gates to say yes/no, design offers, and prevent burnout before it hits Why treating business as one bucket (not your whole identity) gives you clearer decisions and a calmer, more sustainable life When your buckets and boom gates are clear, you finally have a practical way to decide what gets your time and what doesn’t. This episode helps you step out of constant overdoing and into a business that fits inside your life, not the other way around. Hit play to sketch out your own buckets and boom gates and take one small step away from burnout today. #109 - Boundaries That Protect Your Sexy Life

Boundaries That Protect Your Sexy Life Buckets & Boom Gates with Jill Olish & Kim White In this episode, Jill and Kim get honest about one of the least “sexy” words that actually protects your sexy business and sexy life: boundaries. If you’re feeling exhausted, resentful, or like you’re always “on” for your clients, this conversation is for you. Jill and Kim share real-life confessions, walk through three essential types of boundaries, and give you one simple boundary to set this week. In this episode, we talk about:- Why boundaries are non-negotiable if you want a business that doesn’t burn down your life - A personal story of breaking your own boundary - The boundary that was set (hours, access, or emotional) - How it got broken (late nights, weekends, extra access) - The impact on energy, family, and attitude toward clients - The key realization: “The problem wasn’t the client. The problem was I didn’t honor my own boundary.” - What we really mean by having a “sexy” business that can still feel awful if you don’t protect your life around it The 3 types of boundaries that protect your sexy life: 1. Time boundaries What they are: when you work and when you don’t. Examples: - Defined work hours - Specific meeting days vs non-meeting days - Protected no-work evenings or weekends Why they matter: - They protect your rest and relationships - They give your brain certainty: “I can close the laptop at X o’clock.” 2. Access boundaries What they are: how and when people can reach you. Examples: - Clients using email or a client portal instead of personal text - Clear response windows (like “I reply within 48 business hours”) - No unscheduled calls Without access boundaries, you end up in constant interruption mode and start to feel “owned” by your business instead of in charge of it. 3. Emotional boundaries What they are: what you will and won’t carry emotionally for your clients and your business. Examples: - Not letting a client’s urgency become your emergency - Not tying your self-worth to a launch, a month, or a metric - Knowing when to say, “This isn’t my problem to fix” You’ll hear a moment where emotional boundaries stopped a spiral and protected mental and emotional energy. Simple boundary templates you can use: Time boundary template: “My working hours are [days, times]. I do not schedule calls or reply to messages outside those hours.” Access boundary template: “The best way to reach me is [channel]. I respond within [time frame] on business days.” Emotional boundary template: “I’m responsible for showing up fully and delivering what I promised. I’m not responsible for [client’s last-minute panic / decisions I can’t control].” Jill and Kim also talk through how you might share these with:- A new client - An existing client - Your partner or family Your one boundary assignment this week: If you only do one thing from this episode, do this:1. Choose one area: time, access, or emotional. 2. Write a one-sentence boundary statement using the templates above. 3. Communicate it to one person this week. That might be a client, a team member, or someone at home. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but your future self will thank you. Recap: We covered three core boundary types that become building blocks for a sexy business and sexy life:- Time boundaries - Access boundaries - Emotional boundaries Putting these in place creates more peace, more presence, and less resentment in both your work and your life. Next up: In the next episode, Jill and Kim dive into buckets, boom gates, and burnout, and how to protect your capacity as you grow. #107 - Confessions When Growth Wrecks Your Life - Are you saying Yes to the Wrong Things

Confessions: When Growth Wrecks Your Life Kim and Jill get honest about the times “more” didn’t feel better. They share real stories of growth seasons that cost them their health, peace, and relationships, and introduce the idea of “boom gate moments” where you need to pause instead of push. Confessions from Kim and Jill about growth that looked good on paper but wrecked real life What a “boom gate moment” is and how to recognize it in your own business Signs you’re at or near capacity even if revenue is growing Why capacity matters more than opportunity for a truly sexy business Simple questions to ask before you say yes to the next client, project, or collaboration Before you say yes to the next opportunity, pause and ask yourself three questions: What will this cost my time and energy each week? What part of my life might this pull from (health, family, rest, creativity)? If I say yes, what will I pause or stop to make room for it?Write these three questions on a sticky note near your computer and use them this week.   See you next week, love y’all! ❤️Kim & Jill  If you’re looking for more entrepreneurial fun, tune into to our weekly livestream of Good Morning Entrepreneurs (GME).  Looking for a Community? We believe business is better together! #106 What Is a Sexy Business, Really? Is it possible for you to have one?

In this episode of Buckets & Boom Gates, Kim and Jill redefine what a “sexy business” actually is and how to start spotting the parts of your business that don’t support the life you want. This is the foundation for everything that follows. The true definition of a “sexy business” (and why it’s not just about sales or followers) How Kim and Jill built businesses that looked successful on the outside, but felt terrible on the inside The four filters to run every business decision through: time, money, energy or bandwith, and relationships How to start noticing the “unsexy” parts of your business that need attention How you can build a business that supports a sexy life Take 5–10 minutes to write down three parts of your business that feel the most “unsexy” right now: draining, heavy, complicated, or out of alignment with your life. Then circle the one that bothers you the most. That’s your starting point for change as you keep listening to the show. #105: Practicing in Public - Building Confidence Through Events and Collaboration

Join Kim White and Jill Olish in the Buckets & Boom Gates studio, along with guests Adam Rothenberg, Denise Millet, Donna Bender, and Cat Corchado, as they unpack the real “hiccups and hurdles” of hosting live events as entrepreneurs. Fresh off the Fierce Entrepreneur Summit, they talk candidly about forgotten recordings, tech glitches, red‑light fear, and the pressure of stepping into new roles on stage and behind the scenes. Instead of chasing perfection, this roundtable shows how practicing in public, collaborating with others, and being honest when things go sideways can actually build more confidence, connection, and opportunity in your business. In this episode, you’ll learn: How recent hiccups (from missed deadlines to workshop mishaps) were handled differently because of what was shared at the summit Why “red‑light fear” shows up when you hit record, and how repeated practice helps you move through it The different kinds of pressure that come with being a host vs. a guest on an event or summit How Good Morning Entrepreneurs weekly show, podcasts, and quarterly summits all work together as “practice grounds” for clearer, more confident communication Why collaboration is the “sexiest” way to host an event and expand your reach without doing it all alone The core questions to ask before planning an event: Why are you doing it, who is it for, and what solution are you really offering? Events don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. This conversation will encourage you to try new roles, collaborate generously, and remember that the “easy” comes after all the practice.
