Informative and entertaining podcast

Virginia Prescott does a terrific job presenting this great podcast that not only provides Americans with a civics refresher but explains the country to the rest of us! The guests are always knowledgeable and engaging (even when their topics aren’t (sorry)) and the podcast is a perfect length. I only wish we had something similar in Australia.

Not enough information

The new hosts have changed the tone of the program, and that’s ok, but they’ve lost an important element of the show, which is the hard core information that makes it so important. In this their first program it seems like they’re having a good time, but a lot of what they were talking about was pretty trivial. Not enough history, not much on what the basis of the National Guard is in terms of statutes, or explanation of how it happens that this branch of the service answers to both state and federal governments, etc., etc.

Finally I understand all that stuff being talked about in TV shows and Movies!

Love them or loathe them, the United States is an enormously impactful force in global politics. This is a really great podcast that give an understanding of how their political system works and the history behind it. It is presented in small, bite-sized servings that explains things clearly, without being condesending. I can't recommend it enough!
