    74. Claiming and owning your truth with Jocelyn Chong

This episode with Jocelyn Chong, an award-winning business strategist, corporate trainer, global speaker and best-selling author kicks off with a powerful message about unapologetically owning your gifts and confidently claiming to be the best at what you do. Jocelyn shares how shifting your mindset can change everything. It was pivotal in helping her build the confidence and self-belief that have driven her success as an entrepreneur.   She dives into what she calls 'integrated courage'—the inner strength that helped her shed the layers of her past and let go of limiting beliefs. This ongoing inner work has allowed her to grow and thrive in her field. With an accent, as English isn’t her first language (she speaks five) and having struggled with body image issues until the age of 38, Jocelyn has transformed these challenges into strengths, embracing them as part of what makes her uniquely powerful. Jocelyn also shares the practices she uses to push past limits and keep her mind and body performing at their peak. And now she's on a mission to empower more women in male-dominated industries to rise and succeed. It's a beautiful conversation packed with profound insights about what happens when you own and claim your place as the best in your space.    What you'll learn in this episode: When your head, heart, and gut are aligned with what you do best, there's no stopping you. How to stay true to yourself and tune out from unsolicited advice from well-meaning others. The mindset shifts required to move from a corporate career to entrepreneurship.  How to tap into and trust your 'knowing voice' when it's time for change. Why becoming an observer of your life can help you release limiting stories that no longer serve you. Whatever you can picture in your mind, you can create in your life. If you're struggling with self-belief, borrow it from someone who believes in you until you fully own it. Embracing your uniqueness and expressing your style can do wonders for your confidence.   Get in touch with Jocelyn: Website: Jocelyn Chong     Instagram:  _jocelynchong_      Facebook:  Jocelyn Chong LinkedIn:  Jocelyn Chong   Check out her podcast: Magnetic Business Accelerator Podcast.     Tune into my interview with Jocelyn on her Magnetic Business Accelerator Podcast podcast - episode #91 Human Connection with Kim Payne.    WANT TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS **If you’re an ambitious go-getting businesswoman (in Melbourne) and wanting to take your business to the next level, check out becoming a member of the exclusive Courageous Go-Getters Club.   It’s for you if you want to build your business, grow your self and take courageous action.   !! 72. Slowing down to get ahead with Kim Payne

In this episode, I discuss the hard but valuable lesson of slowing down by sharing personal insights from my experiences.  Slowing down doesn't mean stopping or putting off your dreams; it's about getting where you want by managing expectations and enjoying the journey. Rushing or being ''busy'' benefits no one and often leads to unnecessary stress, mistakes, and missed opportunities. Being intentional and building a buffer into our schedules helps protect our sanity and allows us to show up as our best selves.  Through some personal (and somewhat embarrassing) admissions, I explore how slowing down could have been helpful in my life and the value of embracing the ''turtle mentality''—you know, the slower, steadier turtle who beat the rushing, speedy hare, and crossed the finish line with a smile.   What you'll learn in this episode: Watch the signs to slow down before they stop you in your tracks. Managing expectations is a game changer for doing our best work. When we rush or get too ''busy,'' we often act out of character (and regret it later). Creating buffers helps reduce stress and keeps us sane. Slowing down lets us enjoy the journey and get better results—ask the turtle who beat the hare!   WANT TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS **If you’re an ambitious go-getting businesswoman (in Melbourne) and wanting to take your business to the next level, check out becoming a member of the exclusive Courageous Go-Getters Club.   It’s about business growth, personal empowerment and courageous action.   !! 69. The power of perspective with Esther Althaus

In this episode, Esther Althaus, Managing Director of Perspective Financial Services, delves into how the labels and stereotypes we encounter during school can profoundly shape our view of the world.  Reflecting on her journey as a tomboy determined to outsmart the boys, she shares how these early challenges equipped her with resilience and determination that has served her well in life.  Esther emphasizes that the only true competitor is oneself and discusses the impact of societal expectations on body image, revealing how she overcame these pressures.  She shares how she learned about the hidden insecurities many of us face and how discovering love later in life taught her the importance of being honest with yourself and maintaining independence. This episode is a beautiful reminder to trust yourself, and that perspective is a choice.  On that note, I loved when Esther said to someone who commented on how good she looked, “Excuse me, I have always been hot, you just chose not to notice before.”  Now that’s what I call perspective!   What you’ll learn in this episode: How the labels we adopt shape and challenge our decisions. How growing up a tomboy helped her later in life.  The only competitor you have to worry about is yourself.  How can you feel your best even when you’re not looking your best?  The profound insights she learned about people’s insecurities from chat room conversations That true integrity comes when you’re honest with yourself  How critical we are of ourselves about things others don’t even notice. Our behavior and decisions are powerful role models for those around us. Trusting your instinct when you need to let something go. Perspective is the key ingredient when making decisions. **If you want some perspective on your financial situation, get in touch with Esther, mention ‘Courageous Me’ and enjoy an initial meeting at no cost to you (these sessions are usually charged). **    Get in touch with Esther: LinkedIn: Esther Althaus Website: Perspective Financial Services     **WANT TO GET YOUR COURAGE ON?** RETREAT!   Are you ready to take one bold step and kick off a wave of positive changes in your life?
