349 - Cane Toads and Other Terrible Decisions with Animals
This week we look at the disastrous decision to introduce cane toads to "take care" of cane beetles in Northern Queensland. But they're not the first introduced species to run amuck; possums, lizards, fish and birds... turns out humans have been making bad decisions for centuries!

In 2001, Nepal had three kings in three days. I don't want to give away too much more here, but the reason is one of the most shocking stories we've ever covered on the show...

I love do go on
You make me laugh out-loud embarrassingly at work. Thank you.
Funny and informative except when it’s not
This is a pretty good road trip podcast, it’s informative and cracks a few good jokes!
I’ve had to turn a few episodes off due to hosts being seemingly drunk and obnoxious if not belligerent. Most recently the Maple Syrup heist episode/ it’s such a good story and totally ruined by the female host making a fool of herself. The other hosts try to redirect to the story but it’s hard to listen too.
The newer episodes seem much better and more professionally produced.
Funny but frustrating
I’ve only started listening to this but at least with the early episodes, the technical production of this podcast makes for horrible listening. The worst is Matt Stewart who frequently mumbles and trails off inaudibly. Dave Stewart and Jess Perkins’ voices are at times really sharp and go from okay to really loud making it almost ear piercingly hurting to listen to. On top of this, they take ages to get anywhere and interject with random comments that confuse the facts being discussed. The flip side is that the topics are interesting and the chemistry between the members is good. It’s at least a whole lot better than any morning radio hosts.
