Spirituality versus science: Are we so different? With John Cuturilo

Are spiritualists just hallucinating? Is living your life by science too rigid? And what exactly is manifesting, and does it have a place in scientific psychology? In this episode, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Life Coach, John Cuturilo. John and I travel out of our comfort zones in to daring intellectual territory. Society is becoming increasingly polarised and the slightest difference between people is treated as cause for major conflict. With Intuitive Reading being considered a spiritual practice by many, and John’s practice being based in Western science, our respective philosophies often don't co-exist peacefully. But we demonstrate that having civil dialogue and exploring some of the most uncomfortable questions together isn't just possible, but a necessary part of a civil society. Therapist Jaime Simpson on normalising anxiety and co-regulating with your children.

On this weeks episode of the Eb n Flow Podcast, I was privileged to have a chance to sit down with the lovely Jaime Simpson. Jaime is a mother, counsellor, author and academic in the domestic violence, religious trauma and clergy abuse space. In our conversation we talked about her experience navigating the uncharted waters of having a neuro diverse child. And assisting your children to successfully self regulate. It was through this experience that Jaime‘s book A Monster Name Zee was born. As Jamie and her family navigated big emotions like anxiety, storytelling became an integral part of soothing and educating her children on their emotions and how to regulate. Jaime talks to us all about her new book and gives great insight into co-regulating with your children, the importance of normalising feelings like anxiety and how storytelling can be such a powerful tool of healing. This chat was so informative and is a great episode to listen to for any parents and adults in general. It’s time we remove the stigma away from our emotions and learn healthy and productive ways of self soothing and regulating ourselves. I hope you enjoy. Rochelle on online child predators, keeping our children safe and speaking up even when it’s hard.

On this weeks episode of the Eb n Flow podcast, Ebony is joined in the studio by the lovely Rochelle Bishop. Rochelle is a digital creator, social media influencer and proud mother to 6. Who uses her social media platform to showcase her lifestyle, whilst also giving a raw and real account of motherhood. In light of her most recent experience navigating the horrors of online predators and their exploitation of children, she joins us today to discuss her own personal experience navigating this within her family. Whilst also highlighting the lessons she has learnt and measures she has now taken to ensure the safety of her children. As our dependency on devices grows, so does the rates of online child exploitation and grooming. According to the ACCCE in 2021 alone there was over 33,000 reports made to the ACCCE triage regarding online exploitation and grooming of children. So how do we keep our children safe when so much of our daily lives revolves around devices and easy access to the Internet? This episode aims to give you an insight in to the reality of how common online predators are. As well as touching on ways in which we can educate ourselves and educate our children on the safe use of our devices. This is a must listen for all parents and adults in general. It is up to us to open these conversations and speak about this so we can keep our children safe. Enjoy. XX
