What's the Problem with Plan C?

What's the Problem with Plan C?

In the March edition of the CPS Podcast, we take a deep dive into Plan C (in the CPS model, Plan C refers to putting an expectation on hold, at least for now). While those familiar with CPS recognize that Plan C is a very important part of prioritizing expectations -- and stabilizing some kids -- putting expectations on hold is frequently misinterpreted as "giving in" and "giving up," and some caregivers have pressures being placed on them that make it very difficult to put ANY expectations on hold.

Coping Strategies: Are We Teaching Kids to be Early or Late?

Coping Strategies: Are We Teaching Kids to be Early or Late?

The special topic on today's program was Coping Strategies: Are We Teaching Kids to Be Early or Late? Unfortunately, many of the coping strategies we're teaching kids these days teach them to cope once they're already frustrated. That's late. What should we be empahasizing instead? Teaching kids how to identify, anticipate, and solve the problems that are causing them to become frustrated in the first place. That's early. And we were also able to respond to an email and help out a mom who called in with a difficult situation with her son.

Love this podcast but the quality eek

I love listening to this podcast but guys, the quality is terrible. Dr Greene’s voice is so soft and low, then the women are pitchy and sharp/loud, plus random laughs by them when Dr Greene talks, and it doesn’t make much sense they’re laughing. Can they turn their mikes off until they speak? The scuffling and throat clearing.... it’s rough. Constantly turning the volume up and down to handle it. Huge listening barrier.

Sound quality ruins it :(

Guys I really wanted you to love this!
I attended a two day workshop with Ross greene a couple of weeks ago and he was so engaging and knowledgable so I was exciting to listen to the podcast. Unfortunately the quality of the sound is so bad I had to turn it off after a couple of minutes

Where no other podcast applies to your kid

I’ve listened to all the podcasts, many have been fantastic and have helped me feel like a half decent parent. To my daughter. But none were relevant to my boy, diagnosed with all the disorders. With Ross Greene we’re in good company. I listen to an episode a day and it calms me down, reminds me how to deal with things. Using Plan b does help, along with recognising the massive part food plays, in managing his behaviour. Use plan b to further strengthen your relationship with your neurotypical child and to save your relationship with your explosive child. Thank you Ross and the parenting panel.
