Great podcast

Love the pod. Your peanut man is guilty of exactly the same charge he accuses the medical profession. “we must have an answer” Peanut allergy came about well before people stopped eating peanuts…(he alludes to this). I suggest if you look at a country’s diet, processed foods, obesity etc., there you will likely find your correlation. Or what about mixed food groups? My wife had a violent reaction to peanut while pregnant. She had no allergy. By accident we discovered at four months age that our son had a violent response to peanuts. You think that might be connected? We live in Melbourne, Australia. Look up the incidence of peanut allergy in Melb. It is HUGE. What’s the correlation? Who knows? Most multi-cultural city in the world? One thing for certain, not all violent peanut allergies are to do with restrictions of peanuts - it is absurd and “knowing this” will change nothing over the next 40 years. As your peanut man will learn.

Russ, I’ve been a follower of the show for a few years, and enjoying varied perspectives on a wide range of issues. Thank you. Particularly now with the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, I find the discussion refreshing and broad. My understanding of such complex issues deepens, ever so slowly. Thank you for your openness and engagement.
Sometimes about economics, always a pleasure.

I’ve been listening to this for years and remain interested in it despite its increasingly non-economic content because all the philosophical stuff is made relevant to Eco lovers by that gem of a mind Russ Roberts.
Highlight of my week!

Russ is a wonderful conversationalist. He comes from a really well worked out free market perspective and has great conversations with people from right across the political spectrum. He engages in a sympathetic way that doesn’t shy away from disagreement and always goes really deep. A marvellous model of respectful and productive interaction.

I love this podcast. Russ is an interesting and fair host with a keen interest in economics. This is a must listen for anybody with any interest in economics regardless of formal economic education.

Econtalk is a great podcast where Russ Roberts gets interesting and highly credentialed economists and others to talk about a subject. The podcast has had numerous Nobel Prize winners. Roberts is a great interviewer who lets his subjects talk fully, doesn't interrupt and tries to outline his agreements and disagreements with his subjects fairly.
Worth a listen!
