We are a trio of Sydney Muslim girls who really saw a lack of representation and dialogue that authentically captures the everyday experiences of Muslim Diaspora navigating life in the West. We touch on a range of topics, especially the issues we face in practicing Deen in a somewhat faithless society. We decided to create this space to discuss the topics everyone’s thinking about.     Reflections from Madinah

    This special episode of Everyone's Thinking It was recorded in Madinah Al Munawwarah as we sat gazing at the beloved Prophet's PBUH Mosque from our hotel window. We share and reflect on the lessons we learnt from the life-changing six-week journey we took traveling to Egypt to study Arabic and the Umrah trip we were currently on. This was a personal episode with light-hearted bants and heartfelt reflections on the importance of seeking sacred knowledge, the value of the Arabic language, what it's like living in a Muslim country, and the privileged lives we have in the West. May Allah invite us all, again and again, to perform Umrah/Hajj and unite with the beloved Rasulullah in Jannatul Ferdous. We hope you all take something of benefit from this episode!

    The Importance of Suhbah (Friendship)  We all know how important it is to have good friends in our lives, to have people to chill and joke around with but also has your back when life gets tough. In this episode we unpacked the influence that good friends have on our lives, values and sense of self. The way a friend makes you feel is critical, so we discuss the qualities of safe and beautiful friendships that remind us of Allah - Al Waliy, the trustest of besties and The Ultimate and Protective Friend. As always, we end with some practical tips we have found useful in fostering strong friendships, that support us in this world and the next and who remind us of Allah and all His Beauty and Gentleness.     Are you the Main Character?

    In this episode we sought to explore the incredibly large field of identity, sharing our experiences as Muslim women. We start by thinking about the role we play in our own lives and how we can try to reframe our thinking to ensure Allah (swt) remains our only audience. We then examine the role we play in our inner and wider communities and the importance of uplifting each other! As the Muslim diaspora in the West, we must be critical and conscious about the story we tell ourselves about our religion and history, to form a strong foundation of Islamic identity.
