Cloud First, Land Later: Building the Network State

Send us Fan Mail They aren't just talking about replacing institutions anymore. They're building alternatives. In part two of Fortean Winds' investigation into the Cadre and Cathedral, RamX and Bones follow the network-state movement from Silicon Valley theory into physical territory. The idea is called “cloud first, land later.” Build the ideology online. Assemble a wealthy and committed community. Coordinate economically. Acquire territory across existing countries. And eventually seek recognition as something approaching a new state. This episode traces that idea through Balaji Srinivasan's The Network State, Patri Friedman's Seasteading movement and Pronomos Capital, Honduras' Próspera, Praxis, and the Network School experiment that moved from Malaysia to Kazakhstan after Malaysian regulators revoked its license. But the deeper the investigation goes, the stranger the project becomes. Religion isn't merely appearing alongside the network-state movement. Some of its advocates explicitly recognize shared faith and moral commitment as technologies for creating communities strong enough to survive where purely economic relationships fail. And beneath the promise of escaping governments lies a fundamental contradiction: Network states still need states. They need land. Courts. Visas. Property rights. Security. Infrastructure. And ultimately, governments willing to surrender or delegate pieces of their own sovereignty. What begins as an attempt to exit the nation-state may actually be something more practical: A search for nations willing to sell themselves in pieces. Part two of our three-part investigation. Cadre & Cathedral: Wealth, Myth and the New Ruling Class

Send us Fan Mail In Dark Territory, we asked what happens when the signals go out—when institutions lose credibility, certainty disappears, and the only thing left is the method. Now we follow the tracks. In this episode, RamX and Bones examine a specific faction of the ultra-wealthy technology class and ask a simple question: What do they actually want to build? Starting with the extraordinary concentration of wealth during the pandemic, Fortean Winds traces the ideas moving through the network around Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Marc Andreessen and others: the "Cathedral," counter-elites, corporate sovereignty, network states, charter cities and Yarvin's proposed "honeycomb of cadres" prepared to step in when existing institutions fail. Then it gets stranger. Private networks connect money, technology, defense and political power—while increasingly theological language begins appearing around the project. Peter Thiel lectures on the Antichrist. Technology becomes entangled with prophecy. Political and economic ideas acquire the language of cosmic struggle. The pattern Fortean Winds finds is remarkably simple: Wealth → Ideology → Myth. This isn't about trading one authority for another. It's about staying in Dark Territory long enough to see what's actually being built. The Encounter Architecture: UFOs, DMT & Every Encounter Tradition

Send us Fan Mail What if UFO encounters, near-death experiences, mystical visions, shamanic journeys, and DMT experiences aren't separate phenomena at all? What if they're describing the same underlying architecture? In this episode of Fortean Winds, RamX presents the findings from an original comparative research paper examining thousands of encounter reports spanning centuries of human history. Drawing on peer-reviewed research, historical accounts, UFO case literature, neuroscience, religious experience, and clinical studies of DMT, this episode explores an unexpected convergence across independent traditions. Despite differences in culture, belief, geography, and historical era, witnesses consistently report: • autonomous intelligences  • direct thought-to-thought communication  • environments described as "more real than reality"  • profound personal transformation  • encounters that permanently alter worldview Rather than arguing for a single explanation, Fortean Winds asks a simpler—and perhaps more important—question: Why do independent experiences produce the same structure? This episode explores what RamX calls The Encounter Architecture—a recurring pattern that appears across UFO encounters, near-death experiences, mystical states, folklore, and DMT research. If the similarities are real... What are they actually pointing toward? They Walk Among Us

Send us Fan Mail On May 28th, the White House posted those four words alongside a mock UFO disclosure website complete with declassified-style headers, glowing green text, and a call to report suspicious "aliens." But the aliens weren't extraterrestrials. They were immigrants. In this episode of Fortean Winds, RamX and Bones examine a month of extraordinary developments spanning UFO disclosure, the Epstein files, influence operations, political power, and the ongoing war for perception. The Pentagon's PURSUE program released dozens of new UAP files, including military footage of anomalous objects and federal witness reports that remain unexplained. At the same time, a highly publicized "disclosure" campaign culminated in a political messaging operation that many in the UFO community saw coming—and Fortean Winds predicted weeks earlier. The discussion then turns to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the growing fallout from newly released records, the political destruction of Congressman Thomas Massie, and the mechanisms by which powerful institutions protect themselves. Finally, RamX and Bones explore allegations from insiders who claim modern political movements operate less like ideological coalitions and more like perception-management systems designed to manufacture consent and shape public reality. This episode is not about left versus right. It's about signal versus noise. Because sometimes the most important question isn't whether information is true. It's who benefits from you seeing it. Topics Covered  The White House "They Walk Among Us" campaign  Pentagon PURSUE UAP Release #2  Orb-on-orb military footage  Managed UFO disclosure  The Epstein Files Transparency Act  Thomas Massie and accountability politics  Influence operations and narrative management  Ashley St. Clair's insider allegations  The War for Perception framework  The occult, secrecy, and institutional power The signal is real. The Missing Profile: UFOs, Fairies, and Vanishing People

Send us Fan Mail What if the modern UFO abduction phenomenon is only the latest version of something much older? In this episode of Fortean Winds, RamX and Bones trace a startling pattern across centuries of documented encounters involving missing time, unexplained disappearances, and the sudden removal of people from ordinary reality. The journey begins in 1759 rural Sweden, with the officially recorded case of Jacob Jacobsen — a young farm laborer who vanished for four days after walking down a road that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. When he returned, he remembered only minutes. From there, the pattern repeats. Witnesses describe:  sudden unnatural silence in forests  invisible thresholds  missing time  vanished companions  physical displacement  fragmented memory  encounters shaped by the cultural language of the era Fairies in the 1700s.  Aliens in the 1900s.  The same profile in both. The episode connects historical records, modern abduction cases, the Monica Reza disappearance, and witness testimony spanning more than 250 years to ask a difficult question: Are we dealing with different stories… or the same phenomenon wearing different masks? This is not an argument for one interpretation.  It is an argument for a pattern. And the consistency may be the evidence.
