The fear of being seen for who you really are

There comes a point where the discomfort of staying the same becomes greater than the discomfort of change. Lately I've been myself moving through a period of deep healing and growth. And at times it has felt like regression — old patterns resurfacing, familiar fears reappearing and feeling like I’ve been moving backwards. But I am coming to see that these are signs of failure at all. They’re actually invitations into a deeper level of growth. In this episode, I'm sharing a realisation that has been unfolding for me over the past few months, that underneath the old patterns of perfectionism, procrastination and people-pleasing was a deeper fear: the fear of being seen for who I really am. In this episode we explore: • Why growth is not linear • The difference between visibility and authentic self-expression • How perfectionism can become a protective strategy • The connection between nervous system dysregulation and creative expression • The fear of rejection, judgment, and being misunderstood • Learning to take imperfect action instead of waiting until we feel "ready" • Releasing the pressure to manage how others perceive us This conversation is an honest reflection of what I’m currently moving through, and a reminder that there’s no perfect version of ourselves that we arrive at. It’s an ongoing “forever journey”, as I like to call it, of becoming more of who we already are, and allowing that version of ourselves to be seen. If you've been hiding parts of yourself or waiting until you feel more confident or prepared before showing up, I hope this reminds you that being who you really are is exactly what the world needs.  Thank you for being here. Simple self care habits to reset your life (and nervous system)

In this episode, I sit share 10 simple self care habits I’m focusing on as I pull myself out of a slump. In my latest YouTube video, I opened up about finding myself in a bit of a rut and what I’ve been doing to gently reconnect with myself again. As I was editing that video, I realised that intuitively, I had already been leaning into many of the simple habits and rituals that help regulate the nervous system. If you’re new here, I’m a meditation and mindfulness teacher, and these are the kinds of practices I often share with my clients. But sometimes, it’s easier to recognise these things in others than it is in ourselves. Looking back, I can see that what I’ve been moving through is a version of burnout and nervous system dysregulation. When stress, grief, or life’s challenges build up over time, it can leave us feeling stuck, exhausted, disconnected, and not quite like ourselves. And for me, there’s been a lot: • A busy season of life with work and commitments • Navigating grief and loss over the past couple of years • Doing deep inner work and healing So today I wanted to gently explore some of the simplest ways we can begin to regulate our nervous system, reconnect with ourselves, and start to feel better again. Life can change so much in just a few years...

In this episode, we’re reflecting on just how much life can change, even when it feels like nothing is really happening. I reflect on the past few years of life, and recognising how much has shifted. From the outside, it can sometimes feel like things look the same… but internally, everything has changed. In this conversation, I talk about the importance of zooming out and acknowledging how far we’ve come, especially during seasons where old patterns resurface, emotions feel heightened, and life feels uncertain or chaotic. I share about grief, change, and the process of letting go — not only of circumstances, but of past versions of ourselves. This episode was recorded during a time of seasonal transition (moving into autumn here in Australia), and also amidst a period of reflection, with themes of the past resurfacing. I also open up about a deeply personal chapter in my life that changed the trajectory of everything, and how that experience ultimately led me back to myself. This is a gentle reminder that even when it feels like you’re going backwards, you may actually be being shown just how much you’ve grown. In this episode, we explore: • Recognising how far you’ve come (even when it doesn’t feel like it) • Navigating seasons of change, grief and transformation • Letting go of past versions of yourself with compassion • Why old patterns resurface (and what they’re here to show you) • The power of reflection, presence, and conscious choice • Reconnecting with yourself and your values. Some journal prompts through the shifting seasons: • What is it that I’ve overcome? • What have I learned? • What are the things I’ve been through that nobody even knows about? • What no longer serves me? • What are the things that make me feel small? • What am I ready to release?
