    The Philadelphia Phillies KEEP THE 9th INNIN MAGIC going, as they beat the Washington Nationals, 10-5.     Christopher Sanchez got the start for the Phillies and put in an EXTREMELY abnormal night of work. The lefty allowed five runs on seven hits, one walk and one hit batter. It was Sanchez’ worst start since he allowed six runs on 12 hits over 5.1ip against the Cubs on April 23rd.   The Phillies offense began to pick up their starter in the 6th when Brandon Marsh smacked a two-run homer to right-center to make it a 5-2 ball game. Then in the 7th, the Phillies showed A LOT of patience, allowing the Nationals’ bullpen to walk in two runs. In total in the 7th, the Phillies plated three to tie the score at five.   Then, very typical of this series, the Phillies EXPLODED for five runs in the 9th inning! Bryce Harper broke the 5-5 tie with a to-run homer to left, followed by an RBI double by J.T.     The Philadelphia Phillies were down to the Final Strike for the second straight night, trailing in the 9th and WON on Derek Hill's TW0-RUN PINTCH HIT HOMER, 5-4 over Washington Nationals!   In the 9th inning with two outs, Kyle Schwarber was called on to pinch hit. Schwarber stepped up and worked a 10-pitch walk. Derek Hill then followed, got down in the count 1-2, then DRILLED a fastball from Richard Lovelady JUST over the wall in right-center.     Jhoan Duran then closed it out in the bottom of the 9th for the win and his 19th save of the season.     Aaron Nola started for the Phillies and tossed five innings of two-run baseball. Both blemishes came by way of the long ball. Nola allowed a homer to Louis Garcia Jr. in the 1st, then a solo shot to Jorbit Vivas in the 2nd. The righty only allowed one other hit on the night for a total of three with two walks and one hit batter. He struck out five while throwing 86 pitches on the night.   The Phillies bats plated three in the 4th inning. It all started with a single by Brandon Marsh, then Bryson Stott followed later in the frame with an RBI double off the wall in right. J.T.     The Philadelphia Phillies SCORE 12 RUNS after the 6th inning to win a WILD ONE against the Washington Nationals, 14-9   The Phillies trailed 5-3 going into the bottom of the 8th inning, before J.T. Realmuto hit a three-run double in and out of the glove of a diving James Wood in right that gave the Phillies a 6-5 lead.   Then in the bottom of the 8th, Orion Kerkering walked a batter on five pitches, hit another and then surrendered a three-run homer before recording an out. He allowed the Nats to take a 8-6 lead.     In the top of the 9th, the Phillies got some TWO-OUT LIGHTNING! Trea Turner came up with a two-out single, followed by a Brandon Marsh game tying two-run home run! Then with the score tied at eight, Bryce Harper and Derek Hill recorded back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Bryson Stott to come up with a THREE-RUN HOMER that JUST stayed fair down the right field line to give the Phillies an 11-8 lead and give the Phillies their seventh, eighth and ninth runs of the 7th 8th and 9th innings combined.       Jesus Luzardo started for the Phillies and allowed five runs over 6.2ip allowing on seven hits and three walks. He also struck out 13 batters tying his career high.     Edmundo Sosa got the Phillies two-runs back in the top of the 5th hitting a two-run homer to left-center field.     The Phillies' hot bats MUST have stayed back in Philadelphia as they drop game one of their 7-game road trip, 4-1 in Washington D.C.   Foster Griffin kept the Phillies’ bat SILENT for most of his 7.1ip allowing just four hits no walks while striking out nine. His only blemish was a solo homer to Brandon Marsh in the 7th.   Marsh was 0-for-his-last-14 against Lefties prior to his solo shot.     Tim Mayza opened for the Phillies and allowed one run on two hits in the 1st inning. He gave way to Alan Rangel who went on to allow just one run on five hits over the next five innings.
