Rethinking Safety ⚠️

This episode in particular resonated with one of my findings when embedded as a an OP in the coal mine sector: there is a distinct lack of administrative staff to manage documentation. Given the documentation requirements, I have wondered why this is the case. In lean years, staff cuts and remuneration for non production areas may be understood. But in boom years (as now) the lack of admin support means that site and executives may be less able to focus on core activities like supervision, project planning and analysis. With poor planning comes poor budgeting and voila you have a negative cycle in place.
