    #164 - A.I. in Music

AI is arguably the biggest technological revolution of our lifetime, but it's certainly not without controversy. For every positive application in medicine, science, engineering, etc. there are questions about how far AI should go. Most particularly, the use of AI in the arts is a hot-button issue. Can AI be used legitimately in music, literature, and visual art? Does it threaten to replace human creativity? Is it truly nothing more than the theft of creators' work? We speak with Walter Hieber, founder and owner of PrometheanLink Business Solutions, who helps us make sense of this scary new world we live and create in. Learn more about PrometheanLink LLC here. We'd love to hear your thoughts about AI and its place in the arts. Alan's Record Bin #1 - 5 Forgotten AOR Songs

5 Forgotten AOR Songs This week Alan from Modern Musicology launches a new side-project! In this series of shows, I'll tell stories behind some of the albums in my collection. This week, we're talking about 5 Forgotten AOR Songs! These are tracks that got airplay on Album Oriented Rock radio stations back in the day but have mostly been left behind, frozen like a moment in time.  You'll hear about two men who walked away from bands at the height of their popularity, a band that was poised to be huge but never quite got there, a singer with a big voice who never quite found her audience, and a new band that maybe sounded a little too much like bigger, more established band.  What's your favorite forgotten song from the AOR era? #162 - Rock Hall 2026 Nominees

It's that time of year again! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has released its list of nominations for 2026. Sadly, we aren't amongst the 1200+ official voters who will be casting their ballots for this year's inducted class, but that won't stop us from discussing who we think should and shouldn't get in! And who should be nominated next! This year's nominees includes Billy Idol, the Black Crows, INXS, Iron Maiden, Jeff Buckley, Joy Division / New Order, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, New Edition, Oasis, P!nk, Phil Collins, Sade, Shakira, and Wu-Tang Clan.  We've said our piece -- what do YOU think? Who would you vote for? Who do you think shouldn't be included? LET US KNOW!  Drop us a line at modernmusicology1@gmail.com or just leave a comment on our socials or whatever podcast platform you're listening to us.  Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ModernMusicology  Check us out on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/modernmusicologypodcast/  Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ModrnMusicology  Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk-MlcGy5u3fK1j4bVty1Kw  Modern Musicology is part of the ESO Podcast Network. https://esonetwork.com/  Find more about us: Rob Levy: https://kdhx.org/shows/show/juxtaposition  Stephanie Seymour: www.therearebirds.com   R.
