A few episodes back, Bede & Steve took their first dive into the world of F13 fan films by looking the duology Friday The 13th: Vengeance (2019) and Friday The 13th: Vengeance Part 2: Bloodlines. What made these ones interesting was that they acted as follow-ups to the sixth entry of the official series Jason Lives. Your hosts decided to check out another fan film from the Vengeance team that also acts as sequel one of the other entries in the franchise: Rose Blood: A Friday The 13th Fan Film (2021), which continues the storyline from Part VII: The New Blood and features stars Lar Park Lincoln, Terry Kiser & Kevin Spirtas returning to reprise their roles.

Before he expores more of the zombie film movement that was linked to both Dawn Of The Dead (1978) and Lucio Fulci's unofficial sequel to it Zombie (1979) after they were released, your host Bede heads back into the world of NOTLD comics by checking out two related one-shot graphic novels that were co-written by the original film's co-creator John A. Russo: the 2008 comic Night Of The Living Annual and the Night Of The Living Dead: New York comic from 2009.
Joining Bede to discuss these two NOTLD graphic novels are returning guests Trevor Snyder (co-host of the podcast Failure To Franchise) and Brandon Starroci (co-creator/writer of the zombie comic book series Avalon). Highlights include what both these graphic novels add to the world of the NOTLD, praising the expansion of the newscaster character from the original film in Night Of The Living Dead Annual, wonder if both comics were a little too violent and salacious for NOTLD, how John A. Russo's exploitation style is different from George A. Bede Vs. The Living Dead Episode 33 - Zombie (1979)... The Infamous Unofficial Sequel To The Original Dawn Of The Dead
Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 33 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
While Night Of The Living Dead (1968) may have been the film that kick started the modern zombie film as we know it, it's no question that its sequel Dawn Of The Dead (1978) popularise the sub-genre even more so. Especially when Romero's friend Dario Argento re-edited and re-titled the film into Zombi for the European market. After the success of this version in Italy, an un-official sequel was greenlit in the country since Italy's copyright law allows any film to be marketed as a sequel to another film. For this episode, Bede takes a look at the end-result with the 1979 cult horror classic Zombie (a.k.a. Zombi 2 and Zombie Flesh Eaters), which was directed by the legendary "Godfather of Gore" Lucio Fulci (The Beyond, City Of The Living Dead).
Joining Bede to discuss this classic piece of Italian horror are returning guests Kevin Nez (co-host of The MAC-NEZ Podcast, The E Socitey Podcast), John Seavey (host of the podcast Half Price Horror) and first-time guest Sam Inglis (co-host of the podcast Fearless Pretender: The Jennifer Jason Leigh Podcast). When it comes to many horror franchises out there, it's pretty safe to say without a single shred of doubt that Friday The 13th has more fan films than any other that are there. In fact there's more out there than the actual official entries in the series. Given how beloved F13 is, it's hard not to understand why. For this episode of the show, your hosts Bede & Steve finally dive into the F13 fan film side of the franchise by looking at two films that are actually a duology: the 2019 film Friday The 13th: Vengeance and its 2022 sequel Friday The 13th: Vengeance 2 - Bloodlines, which stars Part 6 Jason actor C.J. Graham in the role of Jason's father Elias Voorhees and other figures from the main series.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 32 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.
All the way back on the second episode of the show, your host Bede looked the first official remake of Night Of The Living Dead with the 1990 version that was directed Tom Savini and written by George A. Romero himself. Now it is time for Bede to dive into another remake of one of Romero's Dead films by looking at a film that just happens is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year: the 2004 version of Dawn Of The Dead, which was directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Man Of Steel, Army Of The Dead) and written by James Gunn (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Slither, Tromeo & Juliet).
