This is one of those reviews where everything I wish FFTV would do differently are things that are actually central to their success.
I love the energy. I love the knowledge (especially of other leagues). I LOVE the sheer volume of content. It was either Jesus or Stalin who once said “quantity has a quality all its own”. If ever I’m just craving a bit of news, reviews, analysis or speculation then I can safely bet FFTV have released something recently.
Rumours are treated appropriately. That means speculation is permissible but it is always backed by some evidence or rationale.
And he/they do NOT shrink from strong opinions. Which is great, but….:
I do wish the negativity could be reined in a bit. Wood isn’t “complete rubbish” he is a professional football player trying his best and just a poor fit or below the required standard.
As Forest supporters our first job is to support. Applaud genuine efforts even when they don’t get results. That doesn’t mean there’s no room for criticism. By all means criticise, but imagine you’re saying these words in the team dressing room directly to the people concerned. I’m sure you would take a slightly different tone. More forgiving, more constructive. And in a perfect world that’s what the whole NFFC fanbase should be like: “Thanks Freuler, we love everything you gave, it just didn’t fit, good luck for your future”. That should be the vibe coming from the WHOLE city ground. And FFTV have a big role in shaping the attitudes of all the fans.
