The Global Show with Dave Benson

Dave Benson

The show provides a platform for directors, producers, musicians, actors, and other creatives, especially those not in the A-list spotlight to share their stories, promote their work, and talk about their journey. It fills the gap left by mainstream talk shows and press junkets, offering meaningful conversations with the people who help bring creative projects to life but often go unrecognized.

One Year to Live Not Even Close The Jen Hardy Story

In 2014 Jen Hardy was in and out of hospital six times. By 2018 her doctors told her she had a year to live. Her diaphragm was working at 20 percent. They wanted to fit her with a breathing device and a backpack. She was in a wheelchair and could not walk. She did not tell her husband. She did not tell her kids. She just said they were moving to a barrier island in Florida. Since then she has built a media empire from a $100 microphone she bought from her son, started two award-winning shows, written five books including a bestseller she published in two weeks, founded the Over 50 and 50 Podcast Awards, launched Hardy House Media, and last month walked a mile uphill in Germany to watch a football game with her daughter when her doctors said she should not even be able to sit in a chair. She also unboxed her 100,000 YouTube subscriber play button the day of this interview. This conversation covers all of it. Seven children across four decades. The diagnosis nobody told her family about. The $100 microphone on the hospital table. The pivot from Chronically Positive Mom to Fabulous Over 50 to the Jen Hardy Show. What it actually takes to build an audience from nothing. And why done is the new perfect. One of the best conversations I have had on The Global Show. Three Emmy Awards. Then She Opened a Door Hollywood Couldn't Give Her.

Mary Madeiras grew up in a chaotic New York household, escaping into old movies thatplayed through the night. That love of story led her to become a three-timeEmmy Award-winning television director, working on General Hospital, AnotherWorld, and some of the most watched daytime television in the United States. But that was only the first half of her story. In this episode we go deep into both lives. How a childhood defined by chaosand survival became the exact training ground for directing live televisionunder pressure. What it is like to work with Lindsay Lohan at twelve years oldand see a child already lost. Why Hollywood shut its doors on soap operadirectors despite decades of experience. And what happened when Mary walkedinto a metaphysical bookstore, a book fell off the shelf, and everythingchanged. We talk about the Akashic Records, what they are, how she accesses them, whatthe downloads feel like, and why she believes every soul has a record of everylifetime it has ever lived. We also get into spirituality versus religion, AIand authenticity, the fall of Hollywood, reincarnation, and whether the answerto who you are might already be written somewhere you cannot see. This one will make you think.Links mentioned:Mary Madeiras website: https://theakashicway.comEmail Mary: mary@theakashicway.comThe Akashic Way on Amazon: search The Akashic Way by Mary MadeirasFollow The Global Show with Dave Benson:TikTok: @theglobalshow2026Instagram: @theglobalshowwithdavebensonFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584258725761LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dave-benson-6a0146340/YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@TheGlobalShowwithDaveBenson?sub_confirmation=1

The Man Behind Robin Hood Prince of Thieves Finally Tells His Story

Pen Densham has lived one of the most extraordinary creative lives in Hollywood history. He rode a live alligator on film at age four, talked his way backstage to photograph the Rolling Stones as a teenager, left school at 15, moved to Canada at 19 with nothing but ambition, and went on to write Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, work on Rocky II with Stallone, revive The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone, and direct Moll Flanders with Robin Wright and Morgan Freeman. In this episode we go deep into all of it. How three studios told him nobody wanted a sword movie. How Kevin Costner chose his script over Fox's version. How he fought to keep a birth scene in Robin Hood that the director wanted cut. How he sat across from the chairman of MGM and turned a rejection into a greenlight. And why, after all of that, his biggest creative adventure right now involves a camera, waves, and photography that doesn't look like anything anyone has ever seen before. This is a conversation about failing forward, protecting your ideas, and never letting someone else's ceiling become your floor. IS HISTORY MISSING?

What if humanity has already discovered some of its greatest ideas… and then forgotten them? In this episode of The Global Show, Dave Benson sits down with Jack R. Bialik, author of Lost in Time: Our Forgotten and Vanishing Knowledge, to explore one of the most fascinating and unsettling ideas about human civilisation: progress is not always a straight line. Jack has spent more than 10 years researching forgotten and vanishing knowledge, gathering hundreds of examples of ancient innovation, lost technology, destroyed records, and rediscovered wisdom. From ancient cataract surgery and cranial repair, to Roman vending machines, mysterious megaliths, the pyramids, digital storage, AI, and the risk of a modern digital dark age, this conversation asks a powerful question: What have we already known, lost, and may need to rediscover? Watch the full episode here:https://youtu.be/sqsso_1jTuI In this conversation, we cover: • Why only a small fraction of human history has been recorded• How wars, disasters, politics and human behaviour destroy knowledge• Ancient technology that appears far more advanced than we often assume• Roman vending machines and the inventions of Hero of Alexandria• The risk of a “digital dark age” and whether today’s data will survive• Pyramids, megaliths, Stonehenge and ancient engineering mysteries• AI, truth, misinformation and the future of human knowledge• Why wisdom matters as much as intelligence• Jack’s book Lost in Time and what he is researching next Jack brings an engineer’s mind to history, asking not just what happened, but how things were built, why they were built, and what we may have misunderstood about the past. This is a conversation about memory, civilisation, technology, humility, and the fragile thread that connects the past to the future. Guest: Jack R. Cyberwarfare, AI & the Future of Global Security | Israel Reyes

This week on The Global Show, Dave Benson is joined by Israel Reyes, an international cybersecurity and national security expert whose work spans cyber risk, cyber intelligence, critical infrastructure, operational technology, cyber resilience, data sovereignty and national security. Israel has worked across Mexico, the United States, Russia, China, Australia and New Zealand, and brings a truly global perspective to one of the most important subjects of our time: the rise of cyberwarfare and the way technology is reshaping national security. In this episode, Dave and Israel explore why the modern battlefield is no longer limited to land, sea or air. Today, the cyber domain connects everything from power grids and financial systems to military capability, communications, satellites, supply chains and civilian infrastructure. They discuss how countries are using cyber operations, why critical infrastructure has become a major target, how AI is accelerating cyber threats, and why social engineering, phishing, deepfakes and misinformation are becoming harder for ordinary people and businesses to detect. Israel also shares practical advice for individuals, families and businesses, including the importance of verification, education, call-backs, awareness training and building a stronger digital culture. This is a conversation about cybercrime, national security, AI, human behaviour, global conflict and the uncomfortable reality that the next major crisis may not begin with bombs or tanks. It may begin with a click.
