Judging Judy 35- for Truck's Sake

Romance gone wrong! A friendship that leads to fisticuffs!  It’s back to 1998 this week on Judging Judy, and we’ve got juicy cases. First, we’ve got a plaintiff who needed money to rent a new apartment, but she wasn’t expecting her ex to demand her truck as security! And in Case 2, two old friends came to blows after a night on the town, but was it justified? Judy has two rulings to make and, even more importantly, we have to judge the Judge! Because this is the only comedy podcast that judges America’s favorite least favorite TV judge! Enjoying the pod? Consider supporting us by sending a dollar or two our way at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy. Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your boss. In our first case, our plaintiff’s ex was willing to loan her money, but only at an absurdly criminal interest rate and only if she agreed to give him her truck as security. Now, he says she never paid him back — but she says someone else gave her the money, not him! Somebody’s not telling the truth; it’s up to Judy to decide who. In our second case, two men who are way too old to go out for a night of partying get into a scuffle over who should drive. But our defendant says that wasn’t the reason and that he was acting in pro-active self-defense. Plus, he says, the plaintiff is a con artist and this is just one more in a long line of scams. Who will the Judge decide REALLY won this scuffle? Ultimately, of course, it’s up to us to make the most important, the most pivotal judgement. We have to decide if Judy did her job.  For over 25 years, Judy Shendlin has cast judgement on us. But now we get to decide if her behavior, her words, her actions, and her rulings really delivered justice. A pop culture icon and a multimillionaire, Judy got famous casting judgements on us. Now we get our revenge. Judging Judy is perfect for fans of podcasts like the Doughboys, All Fantasy Everything, and Cinephobe. It’s a one of a kind, incisive, clever and culturally relevant riot.

Judging Judy 34 - Six Day Squeeze Then Seperation

We’re taking a trip back to 1998 this week with two cases about warring couples that have reached the end of their respective roads. The break-ups already happened; now it’s up to Judy to decide if our plaintiffs will get paid! Whether it’s because of a broken promise or a broken door, love is out of the question, but only the Judge will be able to say if money is still an option.  And, of course, it will be up to us to decide if Judy did her job — if she’s innocent. Because this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite, favorite TV judge.  Enjoying the pod? Consider supporting us by sending a dollar or two our way at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy. Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your boss  Our first case features a plaintiff who says she only gave up her life in Los Angeles because her new boyfriend said he’d support her in San Diego and that they’d eventually even marry. However, just six days after she moved in with him, they were on the outs and she found herself with no job and no where to live. She wants to be compensated for upending her life. He says she’s crazy and was in fear for his life. Will the judge see things her way or will she side with the defendant and decide that getting dumped doesn’t mean you get paid? Case 2 features an abusive boyfriend who wants history stuff back from his ex. Despite beating his then-girlfriend and breaking down the door of their former apartment, he says he just wants to be friends. Oh, and he wants back his computer and his grill, too. She says he’s in violation of his restraining order and, despite whatever she may have once felt for him, he’s a creep. I can confirm, he is a creep, but the judge will have to decide if that’s grounds for him not getting back his stuff. After all that, it’s up to us to pass judgement on the judge herself. For over 25 years, Judge Judy has been a household name, a pop culture figure like no other. Still revered for her no-nonsense attitude, Judy continues to pass judgement on Americans to this day. But what about her? Only now do we get to look at Judy and decide if she acted fairly! Only now do we get to look at Judy and decide if she delivered justice! Only now do we get to look at Judy and decide if she’s innocent! A comedy podcast without any equals, Judging Judy turns the paradigm upside down by reexamining Judge Judy, a cultural icon. Fans of the Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang, the Colbert Report and pizza will love this podcast for its unique perspective, its unassailable wit and its incisive commentary on America and American society.

Judging Judy Episode #33 - the Bricker Picker Upper (comedy)

Things get violent this week on Judging Judy! Not only does a plaintiff lose her braids — her car gets smashed, too! Then, we’ve got a case about a no-good dog owner who didn’t even notice his dog was missing; yet, he still thinks he deserves to get paid! Will Judy side with the plaintiff who got busted up in Case #1?  Will she side with the defendant from Case #2 who’s just mad because his dog got spayed? And, more important than any of those rhetorical questions, will we find Judy innocent or guilty? Because this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. Support the pod(if you want!) — https://tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy Our first case features two feuding families and the fight that resulted after the defendants refused to leave the scene. The plaintiff says that their brawl resulted in both damage to her head and to her car. Now, she wants money for both. The defendant, meanwhile, says it was all just self-defense. It’ll be the Judge’s job to figure out who’s telling the truth and if the plaintiff is gonna get paid. Our second case is about a dog that got loose and the woman who brought it back to health. Naturally, she expected to be compensated for the vet bills that came with getting the Chihuahua healthy again. She wasn’t so lucky; instead, the dog’s original owner accused her of stealing the dog and wants to be compensated because had planned to breed the dog. Judy’s going to have to decide if the defendant’s been a good boy or if he should go to the dog house. And of course, we will Judge Judy! And it’s about time, isn’t it? For over two decades, Judy Shendlin has been a cultural force, casting judgement on American society without giving us a chance to judge her right back. Well, no more! We examine the cases, certainly, but we’re just as interested in Judy’s behavior, her actions, her temperament. Taking all that into account, we’ll issue our own ruling! A comedy podcast in the spirit of Cinephobe and the Doughboys, Judging Judy is a hilarious take on American popular culture through the lens of one its most lasting TV icons. Equally silly and incisive, Judging Judy challenges you to reexamine society, nostalgia and how we treat each other. Each episode contains a summary of the cases the judge saw that day, so even folks who have never seen the original TV show can get up to speed and start judging Judy themselves!

Judging Judy 32 - Bite the Hand That Bails You (comedy)

A government-supported vigilante got bit by an alleged crook — now he wants to get paid! Will Judy have sympathy for a bail bondsman who couldn’t do his job? Or will she see through his cocky demeanor and rule against this bumbling buffoon? And, what about Judy herself!? Will we find her innocent or will we find her guilty? This, of course, is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite, favorite TV judge. Support the pod(if you want!) — https://tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy In a case for 1998, Gene, a bail bondsman, says he never got what he was due from defendants Eleanor and Frank. Plus, he says, Frank bit his finger, and that ouchie makes him sad.  Frank says he wasn’t ever going to be able to pay for his bail and that Gene wouldn’t offer him any options to make sure his debts were covered. Plus, Frank says that Gene acted unreasonably by drawing a gun on him…and that Gene got what he deserved! Of course, Judy’s the only one who gets to rule on the case, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get to do some judging of our own! We’ll take into our Judy’s judgement, sure, but we’re just as interested in what she said, how she acted and if she behaved. If she delivered justice, then she’s innocent. But if not, she’s guilty! Judging Judy is a comedy podcast like no other; though, with that said, if you like things like the Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang and the Righteous Gemstones, Judging Judy might be your next favorite podcast. With an acerbic approach to one of America’s biggest cultural icons of the last few decades, Judging Judy is an uncompromising look at society and how we treat others. Even folks who have never a single episode of the original TV show will enjoy Judging Judy.

Judging Judy #31 - Critical Drinking (comedy podcast)

He hit her so she dumped his stuff. Now Judge Judy wants them to get back together again! It’s a case of a marriage torn asunder and a judge who just won’t take no for an answer this week on Judging Judy! Our case comes from the bucolic days of March 1998, though our first case is set in seedy Las Vegas. An admitted alcoholic assaulted his wife after an argument and then left the house. She got rid of stuff after a few months; now he wants to be compensated. While the Judge considers his claims, she seems much more concerned with getting these two to reconcile. She’ll judge if he should get paid, even though she seems more interested in whether he’s going to get laid! Then, it’s our turn to decide if Judy is innocent or guilty. Frankly speaking, I’d rather judge if she’s out of her mind for trying to hard to make this relationship a thing again, but that’s not what we’re here to do.  Our task is simple: examine whether Judy delivered justice. Was the show entertaining? Did her ruling make sense? Did she behave herself? We roll all of those questions, and more, up to come to a ruling of our own: innocence or guilty. For decades, Judy Shendlin has had an unavoidable hold on our pop culture. But while she had free rein to judge us, no body ever thought to hold court over her! Well, on Judging Judy, that’s exactly what we do.  Fans of the Doughboys, Blank Check, All Fantasy Everything and Billy Gill will love Judging Judy, the comedy podcast that offers a critical assessment of pop culture in a biting, snarky, and unforgiving way. Social commentary meets comedy in the podcast that everybody’s talking about. Even if you’ve never seen Judge Judy, you’ll connect with Judging Judy’s unapologetic approach to reexamining one of our cultural icons.

Judging Judy #30 - Super Smash Neighbors (comedy)

The only things these neighbors can agree on is that their friendship ended with a broken nose! This week on Judging Judy, we return to 2020, the most fun year on record, for a case of assault and battery …or was it self-defense? Judy will have to decide whether Kimberly deserved the brutalizing Carrie gave her!  And we’ll have to decide whether Judy did her job, because this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. Want to support the pod? Send a $1 or two to us at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy Kimberly claims that her neighbor Carrie attacked her solely for insinuating that she was on drugs. Kimberly claims she was just trying to help, especially as Carrie had consistently come to her complaining of drug use and infidelity on her husband’s part. But when Kimberly offered a drug test to finally get some answers, she claims that Carrie responded with a punch instead of a pee. If we believe Carrie, the punch came after Kimberly tried to have sex with Carrie’s husband. It’s a little hard to follow, but Carrie claims that Kimberly actually attacked her, and that the broken nose was the result of flailing limbs and self-defense. She doesn’t deny the nose was broken; she just says Kimberly had it coming. Judy will have to decide whether Kimberly gets a payday for her pain and suffering, but we get to decide Judy’s fate. Each week, we examine the judge’s rulings, certainly, but just as important we examine Judy herself.  Her words. Her emotions. Her actions. Her demeanor. And if we found she delivered justice to her audience, we find her innocent.  But…if not.. Fans of podcasts like the Doughboys, All Fantasy Everything and Smartless will feel right at home with Judging Judy with its witty repartee, pop culture insights and fearless commentary. Like Stephen Colbert? How about yogurt? What about freedom? Fans of all three of those things will also love Judging Judy, a one of a kind comedy podcast full of laughs even for those who have never seen the seminal TV show.

Judging Judy #29 - Call Us By Our Name (comedy podcast)

All they wanted to do was have a classic Vegas marriage -- but what they got was cheese and crackers….and only cheese in crackers! This week on Judging Judy, we bounce back to 1997 where we’ve got a case of two newlyweds who say their wedding planner ruined their big day. But were their expectations simply too high, especially for the pittance they paid? It’ll be up to Judy to decide they were hoodwinked or if they got exactly what they bargained for. And it will be up to us to pass judgement on the judge herself, because this, of course, is America’s favorite podcast about America’s least favorite judge, Judge Judy.  Diane says her wedding planner made a mess of her matrimonial celebration. From the limo to the food to even getting their names right, Diane has a list of complaints as long as the train on her wedding dress. She claims Monique was incompetent and managed to tarnish the event for Diane’s friends and family. But Monique says that Diane got exactly what she paid for. In fact, out of pity, Diane even says she gave the bride extras to make up for the paltry big day. Monique values her business and won’t put up with her good name being dragged through the mud by this angry bride. Will Judy side with the newlyweds or the Vegas planners? Will she have pity on the bride who saw her big dreams wind up as little more than cheese and crackers? Or will she find that the planners were right: you only get so much when you spend so little on the big day? Most importantly, will we find Judy innocent or will we guilty? Will we find that she did her job or did she muck up everything? Each week, we take an episode of Judge Judy and turn it upside down. Sure, we’re interested in the rulings but we care just as much about the Judge herself. How did she act? How did she talk? What did she think she was doing?! Fans of the Doughboys, John Oliver, Stephen King and All Fantasy Everything will love Judging Judy, the comedy podcast that turns the tables…finally! For over twenty five years, Judge Judy was a cultural icon who got to judge us without any consequence. Well, now it’s our turn. Nostalgia. Zeitgeist. Social commentary. Judging Judy’s got it all.

Judging Judy #28 - Appetite for Seduction (comedy podcast)

It’s back to April 1998, and we’ve got love triangles and motorcycle crashes in the courtroom today. Will Judy side with the woman who loaned her waiter money but was never paid back? Will Judy side with the ex-girlfriend who wrecked the motorcycle? And, even more importantly, will we find Judy innocent or will we find her guilty? This is the Judging Judy podcast, the wildly popular comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite TV judge. Each week, we dive into an episode of the long-running show to examine the cases, certainly, but even more interestingly, we analyze the Judge herself to determine if she did her job. If she did…well, then she’s innocent.  But, if not, she’s guilty. In our first case, a woman and her husband claimed that they came to befriend their favorite waiter and, over time, trusted him enough to loan him cash. However, she claims that he ghosted them and never paid back the cash. He says, however, that cash was just one of many gifts he received from these two, and that they were motivated by romantic interest in him. Who will Judy decide deserves to get served? Our second case features a young woman who always wanted to ride a motorcycle. When she started dating a guy who owned one, she convinced him to let her ride it. Unfortunately, she didn’t know what she was doing and got in a wreck. Now she wants him to pay her medical bills, and he wants her to pay to fix the bike. Will Judy give either one of them any cash or have they crashed out? Judging Judy is a one-of-a-kind podcast that examines the social impact of one of America’s pop culture icons. For over three decades, Judy has impacted how we think about ourselves and each other. But, never before has the judge faced the same level of scrutiny she doled out from her big seat. That changes with Judging Judy. Fans of All Fantasy Everything, Stephen Colbert, the Doughboys, John Oliver and Michael Ian Black will appreciate this podcast’s snarky attitude, challenging perspective and refreshing commentary on the cases and the judge.
