    I chat to Claire one of my high school friends about her journey to motherhood and the struggles and trauma she experienced with pregnancy loss and an ectopic pregnancy. I never had fertility issues and didn't realise the extent of it until working closely with women in their health and fitness and hearing first hand how difficult and traumatic this can be. We cover her story, her feelings and I also ask how we can support women going through this.     This is a special one for me... my daughter turned 20 in feb so she really is an official adult now. We talk about her childhood and what type of mother I was. We touch on her experience going through so much loss at a young age, and the tough times we had together. Even though we have a sad story, we also have lots of joy.     The Journey Towards Ice Addiction & The Road To Healing PART 1

    Welcome to another episode of Just Keep Going.  In today’s episode I speak to Kasey who is an amazing mother of 2 who happened to join my boot camp years and years ago.  Kasey and her sister Kara used to come and were so full of energy, and such a joy to be around. One day Kasey did mention to me she had been to rehab for drugs and I remember thinking, wow I never would have picked that about her. But then again, addiction doesn’t discriminate. It can happen to anyone.  We have split this conversation into 2 episodes as it is a long one. In part 1 we go over what lead her to drugs and the slippery slope you can find yourself on when you just keep saying yes. Kasey also gives some amazing insight to what is going on inside the mind of an addict and I took so much from this as someone who was the partner of someone struggling with this as well. I am so deeply traumatised by my experiences and still have work to do in this area, but this conversation definitely gave me some healing.  But I do just want to remind you that we do talk about sensitive topics around drug addiction so if this is something that may trigger you please listen to this in a safe space or reach out to someone you love after to chat about what may come up for you.  I hope you enjoy.
