    This week on LEISURE LINK with Peter Greco: Ben Tudhope, four-time Winter-Paralympian shared his inspirational winning of a silver and bronze medal at the 2026 winter Paralympics; and had an empowering message for any person or family member with a disability. Chris Edwards, Chief Mission Officer at Vision Australia, explained why the AM signal for radio stations in Adelaide; Melbourne; and Perth are shutting down from 1st July and how you can access the station via a digital radio; online or through the Community Radio app.   Melanie Kieley, CEO for MS WA, spoke about World MS Day events in Western Australia; South Australia; and the Northern Territory, and updated us on services in SA and NT are progressing. Allison Davies, music therapist; is a devotee of music festivals, what are/were some of the good; bad and; indifferent about such events. Chris Tanti, CEO for the Leukemia Foundation, had research about “scanxiety” where people diagnosed with cancer worry about living from scan to scan,  and encouraged giving to the foundation so they can continue their services. Tricia Crockford has been chosen to coach the Rubies - the South Australian netball team to the Marie Little OAM Shield Nationals in Melbourne. How is the team's preparation going, and the C6 competition has a "new" team? Kristy Stichter invited those living in the north-west of Tasmania to their Blind Citizens Australia catch up Wednesday 10th June at the Cafe Europa Burnie. Melanie Chatfield, National Policy Officer from Blind Citizens Australia, responded to the NDIS news, budget announcements and encouraged people to make a submission. Joseph Stephen is doing exciting work and progress with the Dotpad, a multi-line refreshable braille display, using screen readers and more. The Dotpad will feature at Tech Fest U city 43 Franklin Street Adelaide, 17th June 17th, Naomi Bonacci-Roca has cared for family member since the age of 7. Naomi spoke about the impact on her and other young carers education; employment and how her own health and earning potential is also effected. Hayley Percy, Senior Curator of Music for Rising Melbourne, was enthused and passionate about the 2026 line up. John Duncan, Chief Operating Officer for Brake Driver Awareness, spoke about National Road Safety week, and the work John and his team are doing educating youngsters before getting their license. Leanne Sheil, from Magnifiers Australia, is coming to TechFest, U City, 43 Franklin Street Adelaide 17th June 17th. Leanne had some inexpensive; simple products and information that is making a huge difference to people with macular degeneration, and their quality of life.   find out how the correct lighting can make an wonderful impact, TechFest is put on by See Differently, Aasha Rose PHD, student from the University of Southern Queensland, researching braille and the impact on people's quality of life. Assha and will be presenting at the Round Table for Information Access for People with a Print Disability. Nathan Pepper, from the SANFL,  chatted about the APM Employment League commencing its 35th season; the Launch of the AFL blind and Low Vision competition 16th May at AFL max - supported by Guide Dogs SA & NT; and the soon to start season for wheelchair AFL Chelsea Marchetti, putting "fiz" into physiotherapy - from the Flipper Academy, outlined the role a physiotherapist may play before and after giving birth, Minister Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Human Services and Women in South Australia, launched the South Australian Women of Impact Awards; and updates us on the latest news regarding the NDIS landscape. Stacey Thompson, Manager Volunteer Services at Resthaven,, shared Resthaven's celebrations in this International Year of  Volunteers, Linda Jackson, clinical lead at Southern Highlands Addiction Retreat, discussed research showing that alcohol is still driving addiction rates, Simon Hemming, from Money Sense Lending Services, invited enquiries regarding mortgage broking. Bethany Hackshall, Executive Director for the Gidget Foundation, had news on the First Gidget House to open in South Australia, to support parents with perinatal mental health challenges. David Mitchell, health commentator, shared his recent health challenges and how “My Home Hospital” has helped David recover quicker; better and at the same time taking pressure of the hospital health system. Belinda Hellyer, from Brewed By Belinda, had some suggestions for tea rituals that help relaxation; stress reduction and self-care. Sam Paior, from The Growing Space, leading Advocate, has dug deeper into the proposed NDIS cuts announcements.     This week on LEISURE LINK with Peter Greco: Angus Hincksman, Paralympic athlete and World Championships medalist, has just broken the world record for the T38 class in the m1500. Ross McMullin, author; speaker and historian; shared his research about war and ANZAC day Christina Ryan, Founder and CEO for the Disability Leadership Institute,  discussed its roles; advocacy work; and opportunities for organasations, and governmens at all levels to have professional and valuable connections from people with lived experience of disability. Resident Councellor, Pam Mitchell, reflected on ANZAC day. Belle Owen, from Purple Orange paid tribute to the Late Dr Ellen Fraser-Barbour. Ellen was an outstanding Advocate and Researcher, who sadly passed away earlier this week.
