Making Sense with Sam Harris
Join neuroscientist, philosopher, and five-time New York Times best-selling author Sam Harris as he explores important and controversial questions about the mind, society, current events, moral philosophy, religion, and rationality—with an overarching focus on how a growing understanding of ourselves and the world is changing our sense of how we should live. Sam is also the creator of the Waking Up app. Combining Sam’s decades of mindfulness practice, profound wisdom from varied philosophical and contemplative traditions, and a commitment to a secular, scientific worldview, Waking Up is a resource for anyone interested in living a more examined, fulfilling life—and a new operating system for the mind. Waking Up offers free subscriptions to anyone who can’t afford one, and donates a minimum of 10% of profits to the most effective charities around the world. To learn more, please go to WakingUp.com. Sam Harris received a degree in philosophy from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA.

I simply love Sam and all that he has done on his Podcast and his waking up App. Such a clear thinker . I admire the way he always manages to see sense. His waking up app changed my life. It enabled me to finally rid myself of the guilt of loosing my religion (which I was obviously indoctrinated into at an early age, like most religious people) and find peace in the present moment. “EVERYTHING simply appears in the space we call consciousness .” Love it ! Love you Sam.
I used to admire him now he makes me feel sick

Blind spot RE Israel
2 July
Long time listener from Australia here. Sam is kind and thoughtful and had covered a broad range of topics over the years with a clarity that many in this space do not have. He has however displayed a disturbingly arrogant lack of insight when covering the topic of Israel recently. Whether this stems from an inherent American sense of superiority or something else I don’t know. I hope Sam might discuss the topic with other Jewish intellectuals who don’t immediately agree with his positions, rather than descending further down the “us vs them” line of thinking. The world is not out to get you Sam.
