TLJ 4 | 8min devotion for busy leaders | The Lord’s Prayer, pt 4. Forgiveness

In this episode, we tackle the topic of forgiveness.
Jesus mentions many different topics and ideas in the Lord’s prayer, and it’s important to recognize that Jesus is focused on the action of prayer and not expounding on the topics included within it.
For that, we will need to read the rest of the gospel of Matthew and follow Christ’s teachings – which we will explore in this episode.
    This episode covers:
Receiving forgiveness,Forgiving others,What Jesus taught on forgiveness within the Gospel of Matthew, and How forgiveness works in unhealthy situations. This episode of More about Officership is brought to you by our leadership resource: the Shape of Calling, a 36-page workbook design to help you explore, understand, and responding to calling.

    TLJ 1 | 5min devotion for busy leaders | The Lord’s Prayer, pt 1. Our…

In this episode, we unpack the first word of The Lord’s Prayer “Our”, consider its implications, and walk through a prayer exercise to put it into practice.
In Greek, the ‘our’ is plural, and can be translated literally as ‘the Father of us’, which speaks to the shared and communal bond we all have as humans, that is, we are all made in the image of God. God is literally “our” Father.  When we pray “Our Father”, we are reminded that Jesus didn't intend for us to pray in isolation of others, but instead, pray as someone who acknowledges they are part of a spiritual community. This episode of More about Officership is brought to you by our leadership resource: the Shape of Calling, a 36-page workbook design to help you explore, understand, and responding to calling.

#8 [Audio Book] The Shape of Calling

Full Audio Book - The Shape of Calling

    Summary
Calling has become somewhat of a loaded word. For some, it creates a sense of excitement, vision and possibility about their future. For others, calling can be confusing and raise more questions than it answers. It may raise feelings of hurt, anxiety, or disappointment.

Perhaps you’ve wrestled with the way calling has been presented to you in the past? Or, maybe you have received a clear call from God but don’t feel confident about the journey that lies ahead? You may carry a feeling of guilt, wondering if you have missed the opportunity you once saw so clearly?
What if there was a way to explore the mysteries of calling in a life-giving way? What if there was an opportunity to revisit some of the old and narrower definitions of calling, and expand them to capture a fuller sense of God’s intention?
This audiobook has been produced to help navigate you through some of the more nuanced aspects of calling, such as:
How do we accurately define calling? Why does the image of God we hold onto, and the metaphors we use when relating to God, have such a profound impact on our choices and sense of freedom? What problems occur when we try and discern a call?Is there a way we resolve an inner tension of not wanting to embrace a call from God?How does calling practically outwork in our lives, and what responsibility must we take to see it come to fruition? The discerning process of testing a call. Full Audio Book read by the author Christopher Trodden

The Shape of Calling of also available as a 36-page reflection guide.
