Really good. But hurt people hurt people
3 Jan
I love the insight. But with some disorders, there is a LOT of familial and relationship collateral damage. Mania can be frightening for the sufferer, of course. But they can also do harm to those around them. As an example; it’s NOT cool to go off your meds because you “lose” creativity and abuse your children and your spouse. It’s totally not ok. We SHOULD feel appropriate shame around this. Shame that is appropriately held is VITAL. When we have a way to NOT hurt others, NOT ruin someone else’s finances by buying 10 cars. NOT screaming at a well minded and grounded spouse who wants us to stop buying cars. It’s really hard on those who love you.
Enjoyable and Knowledgeable

Psychology Unplugged is an inviting and incredibly educational podcast. I enjoy listening in most mornings and getting my daily dose of psychological and motivational knowledge. Dr Nigro and Julie do an exceptional job at explaining psychological disorders, treatments, and motivational aspects, as well as demystify aspects of psychology. Their bicker makes me smile, and their helpful perspectives from a clinical point of view allows me to understand the field of psychology without false stigmas. Psychology Unplugged is a must for anyone who needs knowledgeable motivation, or even simply wants to understand psychology better. I recommend fully, and have throughly enjoyed this podcast.
Very by numbers - to the extent of misinformation

He was just reading out of the DSM which needs at the very least contextualising and filling out. Organic thoroughgoing informed knowledge absent. Sound quality terrible. Sounds like he's cramming whatever in in between appointments, while he scrounges his papers together and moves around the room. Sound cut off completely to radio silence a few minutes before the end of him speaking/ the podcast ended.
Deceptive

This is not a science based show. They represent it as such but it’s full of religious and supernatural nonsense. I advise you find other psychological sources
