The Work Podcast Episode 33 - Don't Jump Ship

This week on The Work, we kicked things off with a little debate about whether I should open every episode with a song request — apparently y’all want me singing more than Greg does. From there, we dove straight into weekend adventures: Greg battled the wildest gravel road in Arkansas just to get to Whitaker Point, and I battled… well… my truck. Let’s just say deer camp didn’t go as planned. One pothole, a three-foot airborne moment, and a whole lot of broken suspension later, I ended up hauling my wounded 3500 home on a trailer. No deer, no meat, just a big repair bill and a very humbled Sikes. We talked fasting — Greg kicked off a three-day water fast and I shared how extended fasting fits better once you’re out of a caloric deficit. Then we drifted into the carnivore-to-keto-to-back-to-carbs trend online, and why staying rooted in real food and consistent principles matters more than chasing the hype. People jump ship fast. I’ll stick with what works. We also hit on social media, my “toilet paper in the fridge” reel experiment, and the strange corners of the internet — including the no-wipe carnivore movement and the people drinking their first morning urine. (No, neither of us are signing up for that.) We previewed the upcoming Hack Your Health event, where I’ll be on the food addiction panel again — likely ruffling a few feathers with my stance on extreme ownership. At the end of the day, you put the fork in your own mouth. That message usually lands. From there it was travel, parental adventures (my folks are literally sailing around the world with six months’ worth of Keto Bricks), winter nasal breathing, AI deepfakes, gym talk, upcoming deload timing, and plans for next year’s show — including a massive local charcuterie board situation we’re pretty excited about. We wrapped the episode the way we always do: ready to get back to work, film a reel, and keep pushing everything forward. Alexandra shares her journey that started during pregnancy, revealing how to find official data on government websites that contradicts what we’re often told by medical professionals. 4. The Work Episode 32 - Vegans and Venison

The Work Episode 32 - Vegans and Venison

What’s up, y’all — in this episode, Greg and I kick things off with some good ol’ Saturday morning nostalgia: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, DuckTales, cereal boxes, and childhood memories. Then we shift gears into what’s happening around the compound and what’s coming down the pipeline. It’s been “spring cleaning in the fall” season here at Keto Brick HQ — clearing out, organizing, and getting ready for a strong close to the year. We’ve got two new Brick flavors dropping before year’s end (one brand new, one long-awaited favorite making its comeback), and we couldn’t be more excited to share those. We’re also gearing up for Hack Your Health in Tampa — I’ll be speaking on the food addiction panel, and we’re planning to link up with some old friends and maybe even get a lift in while we’re there. In the meantime, I’ve got deer camp this weekend to fill the freezer and new feeder pigs arriving soon for the homestead. Never a dull moment. We spend some time talking about the pushback from vegans on social media lately — and I make it clear where I stand: I’m all about regenerative agriculture, raising animals ethically, and honoring the life that feeds us. I don’t advocate for factory farming — I advocate for stewardship, self-sufficiency, and doing things the right way. From there, Greg and I dive into business and training updates. We’re ramping up Keto Bodybuilding content and marketing, relaunching Live Savage Apparel with a totally new look, planning next year’s retreats (including an entrepreneurial one), and I’m finally recording the audiobook version of my book for Audible. On the fitness front, we’re running a new training split that’s absolutely brutal in the best way — heavy squats, hip thrusts, lunges, and hypertrophy work. I’m hitting lifetime PRs and feeling strong. We’re tweaking the workout app to make tracking smoother, scheduling bloodwork and Dexa scans, and already thinking ahead to prep in 2027. We talk a lot about order and alignment — getting the environment clean, systems dialed in, and priorities locked before the next phase of growth. Whether it’s the gym, business, or homestead, everything runs smoother when you take the time to clear out the clutter and tighten things up. I also get personal toward the end — sharing some thoughts on parenting Rigel and figuring out how to discipline without breaking his spirit. There’s no manual for this stuff, but I’m learning that patience, consistency, and presence go a long way. We close things out with plans for deer camp, hiking, and a reminder to embrace the building phase — in training, in business, and in life. Main Takeaways: Two new Keto Brick flavors on the way Hack Your Health prep + travel plans Live Savage Apparel relaunch incoming Regenerative agriculture > factory farming Hitting new PRs and refining the workout app 2026: Build the systems — 2027: Go all in on prep Stay organized, stay disciplined, stay resolute In short: this episode is all about resolve — cleaning house, sharpening focus, and putting everything in order to grow stronger in every area of life. The Work Podcast Episode 31- Robert Gets Old

This week, Greg and I are back at it—bundled up in hoodies, talking through our new six-day training split. We’ve officially settled into a rhythm that feels rock-solid: structured, heavy, and sustainable. No program hopping, no gimmicks—just the basics done right and tracked with precision. I’m actually logging everything in the new app for once, and I love seeing the total volume and progression data stack up over time. The plan is to run this through the next six months and analyze how much strength and muscle we build before the next cut. We also dive into the mental side of building season—embracing that “fed” phase without letting it get sloppy. Coming out of a show, it’s always tough seeing the scale creep up and the definition fade, but this is where real growth happens. The goal is to stay strategic, keep body fat within a reasonable range, and focus on true performance metrics in the gym. Tomorrow’s my 34th birthday, and we’re celebrating with a Keto Brick “pizza party” team day—bonfire, hoodies, keto pizzas, and good people. I’m also doing something spontaneous and fun: from now until the end of October, every Keto Brick order gets a random cash bill tucked inside. Could be a $1 bill or a $100 bill—just a little birthday giveaway to give back to the community. We touch on TV habits, disconnecting from the world, and how true rest comes from meaningful activity—whether that’s training, hunting, or just unplugging. We talk about getting older, too, but in a good way—stronger, smarter, and more intentional each year. Huge shout-out to Joe Davis, who just set state and national powerlifting records at age 54, proving that age really is just a number when you live this lifestyle right. We’re also planning a Tough Mudder retreat in Austin for the end of February—an intimate, hands-on “meat-up” with training, grilling, and good conversation. Between that, some deep cleaning at the brick facility, new software rollouts, and a secret brand launch on the horizon, there’s a lot in motion here at Keto Savage HQ. To wrap it up, we brainstormed creating a mini-course on how to track macros properly—covering the basics of scales, portions, and common mistakes. It’s something simple that could make a huge difference for folks starting out. Another great episode in the books—steady progress, good food, and plenty of fire ahead.
