We bellen met sportjournalist Jaap de Groot over het Nederlandse voetbalnieuws van de afgelopen week; bondscoach Ronald Koeman maakte zijn voorlopige selectie voor het EK in Duitsland (start 14 juni) bekend, FIFA-leden stemden voor Brazillie als hostland voor het vrouwen WK 2027 en Vitesse en Volendam verdwijnen uit de Eredivisie.

3 continenten, 28 landen, ruim 22.000 km 'and counting': Koen fietst een rondje om de wereld
Begin januari vorig jaar begon Koen Sachse aan zijn fietsronde om de wereld. Sindsdien heeft hij 28 landen op 3 continenten doorkruist en staat er ruim 22.000 kilometer op de teller. Hij is dit avontuur niet alleen aangegaan voor zichzelf, maar ook om geld in te zamelen voor de Sunday Foundation. Koen heeft zijn etappe door Australië erop zitten en gaf donderdagavond een presentatie voor Dutchlink in Sydney.

A quality broadcast
As an Australian (& Dutch descendent) who lived in NL for a few years, I really enjoy the Dutch podcasts. I initially listened just to keep my Dutch language skills fresh but now I tune also because the content itself is quality - especially when it involves Dutch perspectives & comparisons on political, cultural & historical themes. It’s informative, intelligent and often fun and humorous too. Well done. Keep it coming.
From a non native speaker's point of view
Some of the podcasts are very challenging to listen to, let alone understand. The reporter from South Africa for example, I can't understand her accent, she talks way too fast, there's little context leading into the stories and the line is poor. But that is maybe only once a month. I enjoy the 'visiting ...' segments the most because there's little technical language, and the conversations are very casual and easy to follow. All in all it's been a great opportunity (together with a dictionary) to improve my listening skills past an intermediate level.
