Giving Back with The Giving Manger

Giving Back with The Giving Manger

Today's episode features Allison and Lisa, founders of The Giving Manger. The Giving Manger helps families shift the focus of Christmas back to giving which is a message I LOVE.

In this episode we talk about the importance of giving - and no this isn't only about monetary giving and ways we can give back all year 'round, not just at Christmas.

Here's a promised link to start The Giving Manger tradition: https://www.thegivingmanger.com/products/reserve-your-giving-manger-kit

It's OK to Give Up Control - Psalm 23

It's OK to Give Up Control - Psalm 23

For the Psalm 23 study: https://www.shelivespurposefully.com/products/shop/Psalm-23-Study-p254246016

Ever find yourself anxious when things are all out of control? when you don’t know what will happen next? when it feels like your entire world just fell apart? or when it seems like there’s no answers for how to move forward?

I realized recently that I struggle with trust & releasing control to Jesus .

& honestly, psalm 23 is THE chapter of the Bible that is helping me conquer that.

I think we can really believe that we can trust and accept the idea that we can release control and that it’s OK to and even BETTER to, when we know the One we are trusting and giving control to.

He shows us that He is good, He is loving, He cares and He is capable.

In Psalm 23, we begin to see our role as the sheep and Him as the Shepherd and realize we CAN give Him control.

It also is a relief because I think at least for me in all my attempt to control, I’ve realized I have no control.

But when I give Him control I can trust that whatever happens, He's in control.

& He’s proven himself more than trustworthy to take it – life, struggles, control – off of our hands.

Let's Chat: Standing Firm in Your Faith In College

Let's Chat: Standing Firm in Your Faith In College

College is known to be the time to spread your wings and expand your horizons. It's also a time that infamously worries the church and often parents and friends for its off-to-college members. But why? Because it also rushes in a way of new experiences and choices and acts and ideas - many of which are not pleasing to the Lord.

Megan and her friend Julia chat about college, why it's not an excuse to do what you want, why following Jesus with your whole heart and with your actions in college is not restraining but freeing, how to stand firm in your faith in this time and the MAJOR gift of grace that God bestows on us if (and when) we disobey.

7 Ways to Get More Out of Bible Reading

7 Ways to Get More Out of Bible Reading

I asked our Instagram community what they struggled with and one response we got was Bible reading... and trust me, I know many of us can relate.

Has Bible reading ever felt empty? or like just something to check off the checklist for today? Maybe it's been a struggle to get more out of it or even have the desire to read and spend time with Jesus.

I (Megan) dive into my daily Bible reading set up that was a game changer for my walk with the Lord AND share 3 extra helpful guides to make sure we're allowing Jesus to speak to us even more in our time with Him.
