Hi I'm Savilian, a hip-hop artist based in Melbourne, Australia - this is a show about me and the things I find interesting.

You will always find me talking about the music I release, as well as the music industry in Oz... you will definitely find me talking about books I am reading or thoughts I have on things I have watched relating to mental health and cultivating a strong mind... and you will occasionally find me talking about my career and journey as a day trader on the ASX.

Thank you for joining me and sharing in my journey, I hope always that I can provide some insight... but at the bare minimum, a good ol laugh at the ridiculousness of life.

Love always... psh pssh... Sav!

Seeking Human Potential & The Rising Tide at Absolute MMA with Sam Marles & Diellon Lihari

Sup gang - welcome to Episode 63 of Slaaap Haaapy!!

Was fortunate enough to sit down and chat with 2 of Australia's most promising young mixed martial artists on Slap Happy over the weekend.

Sam Marles and Diellon Lihari fight out of Absolute MMA in Melbourne and have made some impressive leaps forward in their respective careers recently. I wanted to chat to the lads about their intro and journey in MMA, as well as the mindset required to flourish in such a violent and demanding sport.

We spoke for nearly 2 hours and covered a host of topics including their introductions into the sport, transition to Absolute MMA, recent success of Absolute MMA, their career goals and the camaraderie and brotherhood they share on this journey.

The boys are funny, intelligent and full of wisdom and I really enjoyed our conversation - I hope you do too!

Identifying Talent & The Power of Networking with William Gone

Identifying Talent & The Power of Networking with William Gone

Sup gang - welcome to Episode 61 of Slaaap Haaapy!!
I was super privileged to have New York native William Gone come through and sit down with rūku and I for a deep chat on all things music, marketing and hip-hop. Will has a strong history navigating many circles of the entertainment industry both in America and Australia and brought with him a wealth of information and knowledge.
During the conversation we covered a range of topics, starting from his introduction to the industry via the mail room at Madonna's own record label Maverick Records, to his time at Universal Music and more recently his adventures managing R&B talent Andre Winter. Through his tenure at Maverick and Universal, Will spent time with some of the most powerful people in hip-hop and has played a role in finding and developing American rap powerhouses Crucial Conflict and Bishop Nehru.
Will has a genuine love for hip-hop and an infectious energy when it comes to managing talent and unlocking new levels of hustle, the man genuinely lives and breathes this stuff and he was so great to chat to.

The Silver Lining From Loss & What's Next with Talakai

The Silver Lining From Loss & What's Next with Talakai

Sup gang - welcome to Episode 60 of Slaaap Haaapy!!
Back in the day I would regularly make the trip up to Newcastle from the Central Coast to play shows. Newcastle's hip-hop scene at the time was bubbling, with local promoters like Micks King, Geezer & The Madhouse Collective and MITUS putting on shows at really frequent interval... there was always an opportunity to jump on the mic if you were hungry enough.
At these shows I would often run into Talakai, a young MC with a rapid flow and all the braggadocio of a local superstar. Like all other MC's I saw him as competition, but we became friendly and would often support each other at these shows. I loved his beat choices, as he would often rap over some of the harder/bassier style of beats that I also really enjoyed.
After years of twists and turns with our own unique journey's through music and hip-hop playing out, we finally get a chance to sit down and properly catch up and chat about Tala's rise over the last few years, as well as some of the highs and lows that he has experienced in getting to this place. We get to touch on the meaning behind his first ever song release, some of the epic highlights of touring with Australia's hottest rap property in ChillinIT, as well as what's next for the Novocastrian ninja of rap.

Professionalism In Australian Hip-Hop (My Thoughts After Watching Onyx)

Professionalism In Australian Hip-Hop (My Thoughts After Watching Onyx)

Sup gang - welcome to Episode 59 of Slaaap Haaapy!!
I went and watched American hip-hop legends Onyx at Laundry Bar in Melbourne recently and was so impressed and inspired that I wanted to talk about what I was thinking. The level of professionalism and intentionality was so remarkable and something I am not going to forget anytime soon.
As I result I thought it would be my responsibility to speak up and share with the Australian hip-hop community why and where I think we can be better as a collective, and in turn continue to push our competitiveness internationally.

My First Fight Experience (A Review)

My First Fight Experience (A Review)

Sup gang - welcome to Episode 58 of Slaaap Haaapy!!
I recently embarked on the journey of a lifetime. About 2 months ago I was presented an opportunity, one that I saw very differently in the initial phases, but one that grew into something much more beautiful and came to be really quite formative. I trained like a fighter for 2 months and prepared for my first ever boxing match. I lost the fight, but gained so much knowledge and insight into what it is to be human and what is required to excel and to master something.
I loved every second of the experience and although at times struggled and wasn't sure that I would be able to make it through, knew that I was on the right path and continued to find ways to push myself. I am so grateful to this experience and everyone who played a roll in it and would highly recommend the experience to anyone struggling with something that they feel they need to overcome.
I hope you enjoy my review of my first ever fight experience and all of the emotions and thoughts that came with it.
