I chat to Kate about what got her into writing, as well as speak about her books which all revolve around Autistic children, shining a positive spotlight on them whilst including her love of dogs. We explore why people on the spectrum tend to prefer and bond better with animals. Kate goes into depth about her books as well as her reasons for writing them, a lot of which are based on real life events and experiences. Discussing minority groups and the definition of 'normal', we delve into what society expects and perceives and why this issues can be so damaging. Mel also has a partner who is Autistic with ADHD and a son who she believes is the same.
