SQUAD Films

Peter Reaburn interviews Australian Swimming Greats

SQUAD Films is an independent reality/documentary series capturing the raw intensity of Australian competitive swimming and the relentless pursuit of becoming a Dolphin. Set on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the series began in October 2024 and follows elite swimmers on their journey to the 2028 Los Angeles and 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games. Shot entirely on the evolving Apple iPhone, SQUAD Films is directed by award-winning photojournalist and cinematographer Brett Clements, produced by Linda ‘Pony’ Clements, and guided by Professor of Sport and author Peter Reaburn. With 24 episodes planned, the SQUAD Films podcast takes an even deeper dive—expanding on the stories, struggles, and triumphs with exclusive interviews and long-form conversations. SQUAD Films is committed to putting the athlete first. While the series will document the journey to the Olympics, we understand that social media exposure isn’t for everyone. Any featured athlete has the choice to opt-out of promotional content, ensuring that their focus remains on training and performance. Our goal is to support, not distract. • Parents aren’t just signing up for a documentary; they’re signing up for a movement. • This isn’t about pressure; it’s about giving swimmers a fighting chance at financial independence. • No athlete should have to quit because they can’t afford to compete.
