I really enjoy The Squiz ! Claire, Kate, Alice, Siobhan and now Andrew make me smile while keeping me up to date on the world at large. As someone who turned off TV news about a decade ago, this is what works for me now. Dare I say it’s ‘a joyful way to get your news’

Concerned about the current sponsors
3 Nov
The BHP greenwashing ads are questionable but the new AirBNB ad is just plain offensive. It also makes no sense, am I supposed to feel sorry for the single mother who works two jobs so she can pay the mortgage on her second property which she puts on Airbnb? Those of us stuck in the rental crisis nightmare can see an easily solution to that problem
Advertisers influencing news content
15 Oct
I love this podcast and listen every morning for the balanced reporting on key news stories. I understand the need for advertising but was very disappointed to get a whiff of BHP sponsors affecting news content with the reporting on tech’s use of nuclear and highlighting that nuclear is emissions free and that renewables can’t deliver around the clock. I am no expert however there was no mention of CSIRO’s findings that there is no economic justification for the use of nuclear. I just did a quick google on BHP’s position on nuclear and found that BHP are trying to lift the ban on nuclear in Australia. Very disappointing Squiz! Please keep the lines between advertising and news content seperate!
