Hitting Reset - Australia’s Foreign Policy Challenges Under Albanese

John is joined by the editor of Australian Foreign Affairs Magazine, Jonathan Pearlman, for a discussion about how Australia’s new Albanese government will approach foreign policy.
They discuss the current status of The Quad, with a focus on India’s curious position within the group. How does the rising South Asian power’s tradition of non-alignment affect The Quad’s progress and furthermore, could India’s poor human rights record affect the group’s cohesion?
Jonathan also explains how Australia’s historically rigid approach to foreign policy and diplomacy, must become more adaptable amid the shifting power dynamics within the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking Through Peter Zeihan’s Glass, Darkly - A Vision of Deep Global Change

Zeihan predicts the unraveling of globalization as we currently know it, to a world where states / regions will have to secure their own access to food, energy and security whilst simultaneously managing climate change and aging populations.

Highly recommended

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr John Bruni late last year and discovered this podcast. As a bit of an amateur geopolitics enthusiast it ticks all the right boxes. Straight-talking, balanced, arguments free from the black/white, good/bad dichotomy so often encountered in mainstream media. When I want to know the real story, I come to Stategikon.

Love a good IR Debate

Some of the best episodes are when John and David have slight disagreements or talk really in depth on hypotheticals because you get these great perspectives without either claiming to win which shows just how balanced and informative the show is. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

Thought provoking for novices and experts

Having started listening to this podcast with little knowledge of international relations I could pick up most of what was talked about and found it educational, having listened for a long time and caught up on a lot of international tensions I am hooked, what a great podcast to engage with the complexities of a globalised earth.
