This four session course was taught by Fr. Paul Rivard during Lent of 2024 at Saint George the Martyr Anglican Church in Simpsonville, SC. The Eight Thoughts are a pre-cursor to the more widely known Seven Deadly Sins, and while both serve as tools for self-examination and confession, Evagrius and Cassian use the notion of addressing thoughts which precede sinful actions as a means of defeating spiritual enemies before the damage of sin is done.
