Se.04 Ep.03 - Dr Dianne Rodger - An Academic Calling.
This week on The Get Down we are joined by our first ever Doctor on the show! But not unlike Dr. Dre, you should not expect any medical advice from this Doctor. Dr Dianne Rodger is an anthropologist and targets her field of research in the importance of Hip-Hop culture. Recently, Dianne has written a book fo rthe 33 1/3 series on the Hilltop Hoods album - The Calling. I was fortunate enough to be one of the participants in her interviews that went into this publication and it was a great opportunity to reminisce on The Calling and allow it to bring back such an amazing nostalgic feeling.

This week on The Get Down we chat with the lovely Kerrie Atherton. I met Kerrie at a friend's book launch and I knew within minutes that I wanted to have her come on the show and share her story. Kerrie wears a lot of hats in life, but her biggest strength is her desire to help others through sharing stories of hope. Kerrie has three books in publication and facilitates community events that showcase ordinary yet extraordinary people overcoming adversity. This was a free flowing conversation that was only cut short due to time restraints. I will definitely have Kerrie come back for another chat soon. Thank You Kerrie!
