Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong

What does it mean to belong? How do we ensure people feel at home in the AFLW community as the game continues to grow? From Beyonce to global sporting examples, Emma, Lucy and Julia are joined by special guests Dr Kasey Symonds, Rana Hussain, Kirby Bentley and Shaun Harvey to discuss how we foster a sense of belonging, and why it matters.

The Outer Sanctum is recorded on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we work, live, learn and play, and pay our respects to Indigenous Elders past and present. We recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded – that this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

No notes (except heaps of good ones)

Love this crew, love the talking points, love that they’re back. Go footy!

The waiting game

History has shown that women have had to wait to vote, wait for superannuation and yet they are still expected to wait for a fair go in AFLW footy fixture, payment and re-arrange their working lives around. The wealth the AFL in general holds and its sponsors surely can bring the women’s game into the 21st Century.

Footy done well.

Have been following since the beginning of AFLW and eagerly await each episode. Love listening to the different voices and perspectives. Nothing mainstream about this podcast. Thanks for terrific nuanced response to past players and redemption. Go Footy.
