Starting in Florence in the 14th century, a new era began to emerge in the West. People like Petrarch, who re-discovered Cicero’s lost letters, and the new humanists - who valued the study of classical antiquity - ushered in a rebirth, or as we know it today, a “renaissance" - in the study of the arts, the sciences, philosophy, and the theatre. They rediscovered what it meant to be human.

Helps put my 2 month old to sleep

Anything that will put my son to sleep is a godsend. I’ve been a fan of Cam and Ray since I stumbled onto their Life of Augustus series.

When they launched this podcast, I was immediately onboard and have been a very happy subscriber. They know their stuff, and manage to make even the most dry topics interesting with their off kilter banter and insights.

Unfortunately since I’ve had my son, I’ve been finding it hard to keep up with all my podcasts. So imagine my relief when I discovered that he loves falling asleep to the sounds of their voices. He even smiles as he drifts off to sleep, but I’m unsure if that’s because he finds Cam and Ray as amusing and informative as I do, or it’s just gas.

Anyway, thank you guys for all your help. Keep up the fantastic work!
