    Silence

    I used to run from silence as I feared what it might reveal. Society has done a great job conditioning us to fixate on external stimuli to avoid being with our innermost thoughts and feelings. For me, like for many Westerners, this constant outside noise drove me toward escapism and addiction, ultimately resulting in an inability to hear my inner truth. Vipassana meditation and learning to cultivate a sacred practice of silence allowed me to quiet my overactive mind, and ultimately brought me back home to myself.
