Insightful and honest
Love the current topic of rationality and how it has been developed through the last few thousand years. Keep it up Jake!
Very helpful, no preaching!
Jake presents useful tips and ideas without any hint that he's got it 'all figured out' which is a rarerity amongst freedom or productivity podcasters! He respects his listeners intelligence and doesn't shy away from talking about his own personal challenges. I'd highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in personal development in general (which is hopefully a lot of people!)
Jake is an inspiration
I started listening to The Voluntary Life about three months back, and I have inhaled every single one of the episodes in this period. Jake's episode's are well thought out, filled with personal anecdotes and helpful tips. He focuses in on different subjects with every episode and revisits important points so they stay with you. Every once in a while, you find something that really changes how you see things; Jake's approach has had that effect on me. I have already put changes in place from his helpful advice and even though they are only small steps, they have led to me feeling more independent and empowered. Thank you Jake, you are truly an inspiration.
