    Liberation by Facilitation

    Liberation by Facilitation

In Episode #9 of 💎Brilliant Perth💎 I'm chatting with Gareth Durant from DSIL Global. Gareth is a truly authentic facilitator and designer, rocking his personality whatever room he is in! We chat about his work globally with DSIL, how he learnt and continues to learn the art of facilitating and  the incredible diversity of work he's doing. This chat is for anyone working in social impact, those looking to gain or hone their skills in facilitating and anyone who wants to get a fresh perspective on innovation.

    My 3 key takeaways:

💎#1  Get on to the Liberating Structures toolkit for facilitators if you are looking for radical ways to include and unleash everyone in the room! Open-source is the best! There's also a local meetup group in Perth for users, check them out here.

💎#2 Own it. Show up to work with your personality, wear your heart on your sleeve. Be like Gareth.

💎#3 What if we could experience a city through a variety of lenses, and in doing so deeply empathize with people from varying culture, race, religion, you name it? Wouldn't that be brilliant!

    Humanising Technology in Education

    Humanising Technology in Education

In Episode #8 of 💎Brilliant Perth💎 I'm chatting with Dr Gino Kelley and Ezzard Bryant Jr, from the Digital Transformation team at Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA).  They have 162 schools in the state and CEWA's approach to digital transformation and systems change is a story that I'm really excited to share. I chat with Gino and Ezzard about systemic design, technology and the future of education in our great state. If you're a teacher/educator or are just passionate about technology, data science and systems change in education, you should definitely tune in to this one!

    My 3 key takeaways:

💎#1  Virtual classrooms are a thing!

💎#2 It's overwhelming the amount of technology in education these days, digital transformation of an educational system requires an appreciation of complexity and a systemic design approach.

💎#3 It's great to see that well-being is being considered in the technology agenda when it comes to education.

Measuring the Well-being of the Planet

Measuring the Well-being of the Planet

In Episode #7 of 💎Brilliant Perth💎 I'm chatting with the brilliant Georgina Camp, CEO and Founder of Huber Social. Georgie has just moved back to Perth from Sydney and is doing some incredible work with Huber locally and globally. We chat about her career in management consulting, why she's so passionate about measuring success through human well-being and why she moved back home to our Brilliant City!

    My 3 key takeaways:

💎#1 If you want to help people you should be accountable to their needs, so let's measure well-being when targeting impact!

💎#2 Community is thriving in Perth and is what lures our most brilliant people back!

💎#3 Quantifying our progress against The United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals is a tricky one, and should be driven by an overlying well-being measurement. Countries like Bhutan are moving away from GDP to well-being (and happiness) as a measure of progress.

Unlocking Human Potential through Flow Science

Unlocking Human Potential through Flow Science

In Episode #6 of 💎Brilliant Perth💎 I'm chatting with the brilliant Clare Sarah Johnson, founder of Feed The Holy. Clare is one of THE emerging facilitators and hosts in Perth right now, and I was blown away when I met her and attended one of her workshops. I just had to get her on the show!

Clare and I chat about optimal wellbeing and peak performance of humans, hedonic engineering, leadership & the emerging science of Flow. It's a pretty epic chat! This is one not to miss!

    My 3 key takeaways:

💎#1  Understand what 'Flow' is and where you are already experiencing it in your life. New to the concept of Flow? Take the Flow Genome Project: Flow Profile Quiz as a great starting point.

💎#2 The 'Flow cycle' has four phases ( Struggle > Release > FLOW > Recovery).  You can 'hack' Flow by understanding the 23 universal triggers, then design your life and habits to enduce more frequent 'Flow' states.

💎#3 Humans are operating below baseline and Flow will help us to unlock the potential for thriving in the new world and drive societal wellbeing.

    My 3 key takeaways:

💎#1 Live by the ten commandments of an intrapreneur to succeed when driving change from within!

💎#3 If you don't have great ideas? Support those around you that do.
