Salting the Earth
"Americans are dying because of Mitch McConnell, and people ought to know that."
In spite of Donald Trump's best effort, the Biden administration has been busy transitioning into power with new appointees to White House roles and laying the groundwork for early policy. But Trump and Republicans seem determined to wreck the joint and hand Biden a poisoned chalice, even if it costs American lives thanks to raging COVID rates and a desperate need for economic stimulus. Also looking at a COVID vaccine, military uncertainty in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran, the senate race in Georgia, and Lindsey Graham.
"We have to be patient, because [Trump] is going to use every trick in the book and some we haven't even seen yet."
Its official, Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States of America. But if Biden and Harris are busy trying to build bridges and heal an America that's been broken down the middle, Donald Trump is busy blowing them up. Baseless claims of election fraud and interference, and an incumbent that refuses to concede, means it's still a rocky road ahead to inauguration day.
With special guest Stephanie Zuniga-Maher from Democrats Abroad.
"There's more in the tank."
While at time of recording we still cannot declare an official winner, the stage is set for Joe Biden to officially take over as the 46th President of the United States. It's not all good news for Democrats, however, with a much tighter race than suggested by polls, Republicans slated to hold the Senate, and Dems actually going backwards in the House, despite clinging to a majority. So where did it go right for Biden? Where did it go wrong? And what happens next, particularly if Donald Trump continues to claim victory?
SPECIAL: Election 2020
Leading into the close of the ballots, Ed and Sean literally counted down the final few hours of the election race in a broadcast for 2ser 107.3 (9am - 12pm AEDT)
Discussing the states to watch and senate turnout, the battle for the soul of America, voter suppression and intimidation, what the mandate will be depending on Senate results and more... Joined by Dana Rawls and Stephanie Zuniga-Maher from Democrats Abroad and Brendan O'Connor from the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.
Once More Unto the Breach
Coming into the final week of the election race and all the polls look good for Joe Biden, but it's only the one on election day that counts. Amy Coney Barrett has been quickly confirmed ahead of the result as well though, raising fears about her role in a potential voting stalemate and questions about the future of the court. Talking the final debate, Barrett, swing states, bringing out the big guns in the Biden campaign, voting, as well as the latest from Lebanon and COVID cases in Europe.
Déjà Vu All Over Again
"He's out of money, he's out of time, and he's out of games he can play."
As we enter the final stretch, Trump is running the same plays as 2016 but looking a great deal more unsteady on his feet, while Democrats have learned to duck and weave. With voters on track for a record number of early turnouts, however, Americans seem largely decided even if the actual result remains undecided. Talking all the latest on the race including the final debate, shots fired at Hunter Biden and Dr Anthony Fauci, COVID, and the Supreme Court.

I’v been listening to these 2 guys since 2016, now when at the bar with my friends I can shame trump with some logic
Sound quality very poor
Can you please record Ed at his location for better quality and have the questions come over the poor quality phone line? We’re interested in the questions but much more interested in what Ed has to say. Also, how about a follow-up question or two, otherwise Ed may as well read the questions himself.
What a crazy world America is at the moment. Ed gives us good insights
