    151. The Feminine Intelligence of the Dark: Women & the Wisdom Woven into Our Biology

"The fertile intelligence of all life begins in the dark. And our feminine bodies know this more than anything." In this episode, we explore the living terrain of the Dark — not as something to fear, fix, or illuminate, but as a place of deep feminine wisdom. Together we journey through the parallels between Winter, menstruation, the dark moon, and the unseen processes of becoming. We explore what becomes accessible when we slow down, soften our grip on constant doing, and allow ourselves to enter the fertile mystery that lives beneath the surface of modern life. This conversation is an invitation to reclaim the intelligence of darkness, deepen your relationship with Winter, and remember the ancient wisdom your body already knows. Inside this episode: • The deeper meaning of the Winter Solstice and why it has been honoured across cultures for thousands of years• Darkness as a realm of mystery, gestation, intuition, and creation• Why modern culture struggles with stillness, rest, uncertainty, and the unseen• The relationship between women, the feminine, and the wisdom of the dark• Menstruation as an initiation into our Inner Winter and cyclical descent• How truth, intuition, and deeper knowing often emerge during times of darkness• What circadian biology teaches us about our innate relationship with light and dark• Why Winter asks us to move differently, conserve energy, and cultivate deeper listening• The fertile void and the feminine capacity to trust what has not yet taken form• The forgotten nourishment that darkness offers the nervous system, psyche, and body EPISODE RESOURCES: 148. 149. Gemini Season Embodiment: Pollination, Sacred Curiosity & Active Discernment

Gemini season arrives like a fresh wind. After the grounding, stabilising energy of Taurus season, something begins to move. Curiosity awakens. Questions arise. We become more aware of the world around us and our place within it. In this episode, we explore Gemini not as a personality type, but as a teacher within the zodiac journey. A living archetype that invites us into greater curiosity, learning, observation and connection. Together we'll explore Gemini's foundations as a mutable air sign, its place in the unfolding journey of the zodiac, and the deeper wisdom this season offers. We'll reflect on the symbolism of the Twins, Mercury as Gemini's ruling planet, and why Gemini reminds us that life is not something to master, but something to remain in conversation with. This episode explores: • Gemini's role in the zodiac journey and the transition from Taurus season • Gemini as a mutable air sign and what this teaches us about adaptability and perspective • The symbolism of the Twins and the wisdom of holding multiple perspectives • Mercury, communication, learning and the exchange of ideas • Curiosity as a spiritual practice • The sacred art of paying attention • Information versus wisdom and navigating Gemini's shadows • Practical ways to embody Gemini season through observation, conversation and learning • Reflection questions and invitations for the season ahead Gemini reminds us that wisdom is not only found in certainty. It is found in wonder. In questions. In paying attention. In remaining open to what life is trying to teach us. May this season invite you back into conversation with the living world around you. 148. Circadian Biology: Our Bodies Are Creatures of Wild Light with Karinda Wholistix (Part One)

There is a conversation your body is in every single day — with light. Long before we tracked hormones, optimised sleep, or tried to “hack” our health, the human body evolved in deep relationship with the rhythms of sunrise, daylight, dusk, and darkness. And whether we realise it or not, our biology is still responding to those ancient cues. In this episode, I’m joined once again by Karinda Wholistix for a deep and fascinating conversation on circadian biology, sunlight, mitochondria, and the profound ways our bodies are shaped by the light environment around us. We explore how our systems read and respond to “wild light”, what begins to shift when that rhythm is disrupted, and why understanding this relationship changes the way we view hormones, energy, sleep, nervous system health, and more. This is Part 1 of a two-part conversation — laying the foundations for understanding the intelligence of circadian rhythm and the body’s relationship with light. About Karinda Karinda Wholistix is a BHSc Naturopath, Fertility Awareness Educator, and Menstrual Cycle Educator based in Naarm (Melbourne), working with women online across Australia. She specialises in helping women decode what their bodies are communicating through their hormones, periods, and menstrual cycles — getting to the root of what's driving symptoms rather than simply managing them. She is the creator of Harmonised Hormones, a naturopathic program built around deep investigation and treatment tailored entirely to the individual, and hosts Oh My Menses, a podcast dedicated to honest conversation about periods, hormones, and cyclical living. Karinda’s mission is to help as many women as possible understand what their body has been trying to tell them & reclaim their cyclical power. We Cover: The foundations of circadian biology — what circadian rhythm actually is, and the spectrum of light from sunrise through to sunset and darknessWhat is happening in those early rays of sunrise light, and the different cues associated with UVA and UVB light throughout the dayHow our eyes and skin receive and respond to sunlightMitochondria, light, and energy production within the bodySome of the body systems most impacted by light exposure — including many that are rarely discussed in relation to circadian healthWhat disrupts our natural biological rhythm, and why modern environments can create mismatch within the body Episode Resources: Episode with Isabel Friend: 143. 147. Taurus Season Embodiment: the Bull, the Earth & the Pulse of Fertility

Taurus season arrives as the exhale after the fire of Aries. Where Aries initiates, Taurus roots. Where Aries sparks, Taurus sustains. In this episode, we descend into the fertile, sensual, embodied world of Taurus — fixed earth, ruled by Venus, and deeply connected to the body, the senses, value, self-worth, and our relationship to abundance. Together, we explore the archetype of the Bull as an ancient symbol of vitality, instinct, fertility, and grounded power, tracing its connection to the sacred feminine, the body, and the pulse of life itself. This episode is an invitation to slow down. To inhabit your life more fully. To reconnect with the wisdom of the senses. To explore your relationship with receiving, resources, pleasure, worth, and the deeper currents beneath scarcity and accumulation. We speak into: Taurus as fixed earth + the second sign of the zodiacVenus as ruler of TaurusThe Bull as a symbol of fertility, instinct, sensuality & embodied powerTaurus and the sacred femininePresence, slowness & inhabiting the momentSelf-worth, values & the relationship to receivingTaurus shadow expressions: scarcity, materialism & stagnationAbundance as something we attune to, not chaseBuilding a life through consistency, nourishment & devotion This season asks: What would it feel like to truly land in your life? To trust the earth beneath you. To soften into enoughness. To let yourself receive. 🌿 If this episode resonated with you, I’d love for you to subscribe, leave a review, or share it with someone walking closely with the rhythms of earth, body, and becoming. 145. What Progesterone Is Really Doing in Your Body — And Why It Matters

Progesterone is often described as the “pregnancy hormone,” but its role in the body goes far beyond our concept of 'preparing the uterus for pregnancy'. Progesterone's influence informs many different systems within our bodies. In this episode, we explore progesterone from a wider perspective — looking at how this hormone relates to the brain, supports the nervous system, helps balance estrogen, and plays a role in metabolism and thyroid function. Rather than acting in isolation, progesterone is part of a broader hormonal ecosystem that influences how the body regulates stress, energy, and overall wellbeing. You’ll learn how progesterone is produced in the menstrual cycle, why the luteal phase is a particularly sensitive time for the body, and how modern lifestyle factors can influence progesterone levels. We’ll also explore a few practical ways to begin supporting progesterone naturally, through nervous system regulation, nutrition, and creating the conditions that allow hormonal rhythms to function well. INSIDE THIS EPISODE: What progesterone is and how it’s produced in the body Why progesterone rises after ovulation during the luteal phase The relationship between progesterone, the brain, and the calming neurotransmitter GABA How progesterone interacts with estrogen and why balance between the two matters Common symptoms that can arise when progesterone and estrogen are out of harmony Progesterone’s connection to metabolism, body temperature, and thyroid activity Why the luteal phase can be a more stress-sensitive time for the body How modern lifestyle factors can impact progesterone production Gentle ways to begin supporting progesterone and hormonal balance EPISODE RESOURCES: Nuanced Naturopaths Arc Woman Episode: 142 Grounding: The Body, Electrons & Our Dialogue With the Earth on Apple or Spotify Remember to Subscribe, Rate and Review to help the show! 144. Embodying Pisces Season: Sensitivity, Dreams & Remembering WHAT We Are

Pisces season brings us to the final waters of the zodiac. This is a time when the edges between worlds soften — when intuition heightens, dreams become louder, and many of us feel a little more sensitive to life itself. In this episode, rather than focusing on a traditional astrological forecast or the many planetary transits moving through the sky, we explore Pisces as an archetypal teacher. What does this season invite us to feel? What qualities does Pisces awaken in the body, psyche, and spirit? And how can we move with this current rather than resisting it? We begin by exploring the foundations of Pisces — its element, modality, and place as the final sign of the zodiac — and why this position in the wheel carries such profound meaning. Pisces is the place where everything dissolves back into the great ocean of life before the cycle begins again. Because of this, many people notice themselves feeling: • Dreamy, floaty or a bit spacey• More tired or energetically porous• Emotionally sensitive and deeply empathic• Overwhelmed by noise, stimulation, or the pace of the world• Drawn toward solitude, quiet, and reflection Pisces season also opens the door to the dream realm, imagination, intuition, and the wider natural world — reminding us that life is far more mysterious than the rational mind often allows. But like all archetypes, Pisces carries both gifts and shadows. When its energy becomes imbalanced, we may find ourselves slipping into escapism, numbing out, or dissolving healthy boundaries. In this conversation, we explore how to move through this season with awareness — honouring the call for rest, protecting our energetic boundaries, and listening more closely to the quiet whispers of the inner world. Pisces ultimately reminds us of something ancient and simple: We are not separate from life. We are part of the same dreaming ocean. And sometimes the invitation is simply to soften… and remember WHAT we are.
