We call this day Good Friday. Why good? When it seems so awful. It has been said that it may have been called God’s Friday, and changed over time, just as God’s Heaven, has become Good Heavens – God be with you has become Goodbye. Today is God’s Friday, and it is Good Friday, and the goodness of this day lies in the complete fulfillment of God’s saving work in Jesus death on the Cross. The sacrificial offering made once for all – a life given in love for the people of the world.
