Every week I force my co-hosts Kira Jade Oppitz and Brodie McDonald to sit through one of these movies so we can talk about it.

There is something about this production that is esoteric in its uniqueness and so broad in its delivery, that truly anyone that loves 80’s and 90’s ‘trash cinema’ (not how many would describe it, but…) would find this podcast a must for their playlist. Listening to the host, Keean Murrell-Snape, and joining along on the journey from pre-teen first experiences through to the catharsis of father-son-bonding and the incredible bonds between his Co-hosts Kira Jade Oppitz & Brodie MacDonald takes us as down video aisles once paved with blue and gold carpet. The eclectic films range from those not seen, some cherished and some filled with such amazing fandom and lore that the group dynamics and excitement of new, loved or mired experiences by the Co-hosts is sometimes more alluring than the movie being reviewed. For the future listeners, this podcast is more about you than the movie. More about the experience than the learning. @WeirdKidVideo is a breath of fresh air from the commercialisation and television-ing of cinema today. It appreciates style over substance, writing over marketing and stunts over CGI. So, if that’s your thing, trust me… so is this. So glad I found this gem. Five stars!
Slip this tape in. You’ll love it.
I love this show. Like spending hours at your local video shop, slipping a worn videotape into your vcr and discovering a lost classic. The hosts have a great sense of humour and so much knowledge and show under appreciated (and sometimes bad) movies some love. Brodie is a laugh, Kira is too, and Keeans knowledge is undeniable. Definitely one of my go-to podcasts. Keep it up guys - your podcast is great and always appreciated when a new ep drops.
VHS Classics
Great nostalgia podcast for anyone missing the days of roaming around video shops and grabbing a stack of classic 80’s movies. I especially enjoy the preview breakdown as a fellow VHS Collector that never fast forwards the previews!
