When AI Grow Up

Peter Ostick

When AI Grow Up What kind of future are we raising our kids into? I'm Peter Ostick — entrepreneur, investor, and father to three kids (13, 4, and 1). In When AI Grow Up, I'm interviewing founders, educators, futurists, and technologists to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping not just our work — but the world our children will inherit. We dig into the big questions: – How will AI change education? – What jobs will still exist (and what new ones will be born)? – What kind of society are we building? This isn't about hype or fear. It's about understanding — so we can better prepare ourselves, and the next generation, for the world that's coming fast. New episodes weekly.

The Modern Masculinity Crisis — Why Men Are Lost & How to Rebuild

Modern men are struggling with identity, purpose, dating, confidence, mental health, and direction. In this raw and honest conversation with host Peter Ostick and Ronen Heine (scientist-turned-lawyer, founder of Luna, lecturer and advisor to startups and VCs), we break down the real crisis facing men today and what needs to change. We talk about: Biological reality vs social shame — how young men's natural masculine drive is being pathologised The growing crisis of communication and social skills in 18–21 year-old males Why so many young men feel lost, isolated, and disconnected The tools boys and young men actually need to build confidence, discipline and identity The entrepreneurial mindset and why it will be essential in the future workforce Lessons from building and selling companies — both of us recently exited our businesses Practical advice for preparing the next generation — including how to empower a 14-year-old girl to thrive in the world that's coming Ronen's background: Started as a scientist, moved into law Built and sold Luna — supporting startups, scaleups & VCs with legal + financial acceleration Now a university lecturer working with the next generation of founders and leaders This is a conversation about modern masculinity, purpose, identity, pressure, resilience and what it really means to grow up in 2025. #masculinity #masculinitycrisis #modernmen #menmentalhealth #raisingboys #foundermindset #entrepreneurship #futureofwork masculinity crisis, modern masculinity, why men are struggling, men mental health, entrepreneur mindset 2025

    #12 Paul Frasca: Sustainable Entrepreneur

One of the areas that I have thought a lot about over the years, is the financial sustainability of social ventures. I think it's fair to say that my track record on this is mixed.   The positive intention has without doubt been there.    For example, I started writing the outline for the business that became TVN in the foreword of the book by Mathew Bishop Philanthrocapitalism    I bonded with TVN's co-founder Josh Ismin whilst at a Microsoft event in Atlanta where Blake Mycoskie founder of Tom's Shoes was the keynote speaker.    In fact, the original business model for TVN had a 10% profit share baked into it, for investment in a social venture. Sadly we never managed to operationally align TVN and the social venture we identified.   That did not stop me trying again, however, this time in a seed investment in Andable which was a digital marketplace that gave 10% of the sales transaction profit to Kiva, a microloans organisation that provides credit to small businesses in the developing world.  Unfortunately, I know now more about the economics of a successful digital marketplace than I did in 2012 and sadly Andable is no longer around.   So it was with these best intentions and a little bit of scar tissue that I got to sit down with today's guest Paul Frasca,  CEO of Sustainable Salons. Paul is a serial entrepreneur who has been able to not only create an organisation that is sustainable in the re-use of waste sense of the word but has also built a social venture that is self-sustainable from a financial sense.     Paul is a super interesting character and if in years to come scientists find the DNA that is linked to being an entrepreneur he would undeniably have it!  We talk about the innovation and incubation stage of the startup and go deep into Paul's journey with Sustainable Salons before finishing with an exploration of some of the future use cases for how technology could build a brighter future.   Hope you enjoy and thanks again to Paul Frasca.
