On the 12th of September 2014, three-year-old William Tyrrell disappeared from the yard of his foster grandmother’s house in the quiet town of Kendall, New South Wales.
A search and rescue mission soon became an investigation into his likely abduction, but who took him?
Was the kidnapping planned or an opportunistic crime? Are we any closer to knowing what happened to William today than we were almost five years ago?
10 News First's Lia Harris and Natarsha Belling go through the entire story and strive to answer the question…Where’s William Tyrrell?

A Theory Revealed
Earlier this year, William Tyrrell’s foster mother was charged with supplying false information to the New South Wales Crime Commission. The hearing has just taken place and Lia was there.
In this episode, criminologist Dr Xanthe Mallett joins Lia to talk about what happened and how, while the charge itself was not relevant to William’s case, it did involve the investigation into his disappearance.

Another Dead End?
At the time of our previous episode, two months ago, police were undertaking an extensive, and very public, search of a number of areas in and near William’s foster grandmother's house in Kendall, NSW. The search concluded after four weeks without any substantial findings, once again leaving two families still desperate for answers.
So what happens now?
With Lia once again is criminologist Dr Xanthe Mallet to talk about the current state of the investigation, and what the next steps might be.
Also joining in the discussion is media and defamation law specialist Professor David Rolph from the University of Sydney Law School.

Audio commentary
Agree. There’s no excuse for echoey commentary this day and age
Detailed information but…
the podcast badly needs editing! Interesting to listen to from a historical perspective, bias notwithstanding. But the constant repetition and the over-explanation of basic information detracts from the overall effectiveness of the podcast. Belling adds nothing of value and the removal of her inane questions and commentary would go a long way to improving the product.

Aren’t journalists supposed to be unbiased, impartial and objective?
