    I verbi irregolari italiani spaventano molti studenti, ma in realtà sono i verbi più usati nella conversazione quotidiana. Per questo motivo, conoscerli bene è il segreto per parlare un italiano naturale e fluente. In questo articolo vedremo insieme la coniugazione completa di 23 verbi irregolari fondamentali al presente indicativo e al passato prossimo, con tante curiosità, esempi pratici e piccoli trucchi per ricordarli. 23 Verbi Irregolari = 50% di Italiano I verbi irregolari sono quei verbi che non seguono il modello standard di coniugazione delle tre coniugazioni italiane (-are, -ere, -ire). La loro radice cambia, e a volte anche la desinenza diventa imprevedibile. La buona notizia? La maggior parte di questi verbi appartiene al vocabolario di base: una volta imparati, li userai costantemente. Vediamoli ora uno per uno, con la coniugazione al presente, l'ausiliare giusto al passato prossimo (essere o avere) e il participio passato corretto. I Verbi Ausiliari: Essere e Avere 1. Essere Cominciamo dal verbo Essere, il primo fra tutti per importanza e che usiamo per parlare dell'identità ("Io sono Graziana"), della professione ("Lei è insegnante"), della provenienza ("Tu sei spagnolo?"), dello stato d'animo ("Siamo felici!") e tantissimo altro. È anche il verbo ausiliare per eccellenza nei tempi composti. PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoiosonosono stato/atuseisei stato/alui/leièè stato/anoisiamosiamo stati/evoisietesiete stati/elorosonosono stati/e Attenzione all'accento: è vs e Mi raccomando: è (verbo) ha l'accento grave e si scrive in modo diverso da e (congiunzione). Esempio: "Marco è italiano e parla italiano". È un errore piccolo ma molto comune anche tra gli italiani, soprattutto quando scrivono velocemente sui social. Curiosità: il participio passato di essere è "stato", lo stesso del verbo stare. Vuoi sapere quando usare l'uno o l'altro? Dai un'occhiata alla guida dedicata su essere vs stare. 2. Avere L'altro grande verbo ausiliare dell'italiano. La H all'inizio non si pronuncia, ma si scrive sempre! È fondamentale per non confondere ho (verbo) con o (congiunzione), hai con ai (preposizione articolata), o hanno con anno (l'unità di tempo). Sembrano dettagli, ma fanno la differenza. Verbi di Movimento: Andare, Stare, Venire, Uscire, Nascere 3. Andare PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoiovadosono andato/atuvaisei andato/alui/leivaè andato/anoiandiamosiamo andati/evoiandatesiete andati/elorovannosono andati/e Curiosità: il presente indicativo in italiano è un tempo verbale "multiuso". Lo usiamo per parlare del presente, ma anche del futuro. Basta aggiungere un'indicazione temporale: "Domani vado al cinema". Andare si usa in tantissime espressioni quotidiane: "andare a piedi", "andare in macchina", "andare al lavoro", "andare a scuola". E poi c'è la classica domanda italiana: "Come va?". Una conversazione tipica al bar in Italia inizia praticamente sempre così! 4. Stare PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoiostosono stato/atustaisei stato/alui/leistaè stato/anoistiamosiamo stati/evoistatesiete stati/elorostannosono stati/e Stare è un verbo che gli stranieri spesso confondono con essere, ma in italiano hanno usi diversi! Stare lo usiamo per indicare uno stato di salute ("Come stai? Sto bene"), una posizione o permanenza in un luogo ("Sto a casa di mia sorella per il weekend"), oppure in espressioni come "stare zitto", "stare attento", "stare calmo". C'è anche la forma "stare + gerundio" che è importantissima per parlare di azioni in corso: "Sto mangiando", "Stiamo studiando italiano". 5. Venire PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoiovengosono venuto/atuvienisei venuto/alui/leivieneè venuto/anoiveniamosiamo venuti/evoivenitesiete venuti/elorovengonosono venuti/e Attenzione a non confondere venire con andare! Venire lo usiamo anche in espressioni come "venire in mente" ("Mi è venuta in mente una cosa"), "venire voglia" ("Mi viene voglia di gelato"), "venire bene/male" (parlando di una foto o una ricetta). 6. Strano, vero? Ma è una caratteristica di alcuni verbi irregolari italiani. Uscire ha tanti significati: può significare "andare fuori di casa" ("Esco di casa alle 8"), ma anche "frequentare qualcuno romanticamente" ("Sto uscendo con Marco da tre mesi"), oppure "essere pubblicato" ("È uscito un nuovo libro di Ferrante"). 7. Nascere PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoionascosono nato/atunascisei nato/alui/leinasceè nato/anoinasciamosiamo nati/evoinascetesiete nati/eloronasconosono nati/e Le preposizioni con "nascere" In italiano si dice "sono nato A" + città (a Roma, a Milano, a Napoli) e "sono nato IN" + regione o paese (in Toscana, in Italia, in Spagna). Una piccola eccezione: con le isole grandi si usa "in" (in Sicilia, in Sardegna), ma con le isole piccole si usa "a" (a Capri, a Ischia).Ad esempio: "Sono nata a Bari, in Puglia, in Italia". I Verbi Modali: Dovere, Potere, Volere I verbi modali (dovere, potere, volere) sono particolari perché sono sempre seguiti da un altro verbo all'infinito. Esprimono obbligo, possibilità o volontà. Sono fondamentali per comunicare in italiano, ma nascondono diverse insidie! 8. Dovere PersonaPresentePassato Prossimoiodevoho dovutotudevihai dovutolui/leideveha dovutonoidobbiamoabbiamo dovutovoidoveteavete dovutolorodevonohanno dovuto Dovere esprime un obbligo o una necessità: "Devo studiare per l'esame", "Dobbiamo andare al lavoro". Può essere anche un sostantivo che significa "obbligo, responsabilità", ma soprattutto è il verbo che usiamo per parlare di debiti: "Ti devo 20 euro" significa "ho un debito di 20 euro con te". Quale ausiliare al passato prossimo? Quando dovere è seguito da un verbo che richiede essere come ausiliare, la regola tradizionale dice che bisogna usare essere. Quindi: "Sono dovuto andare al lavoro" è la forma più corretta secondo la grammatica. Nel parlato si sente spesso anche "Ho dovuto andare al lavoro": entrambe sono accettate, ma la prima è quella consigliata. 9. (chiedo permesso), "Possiamo andare al cinema?" (suggerisco una possibilità). È utilissimo per le richieste cortesi: invece di dire "Mi dai un caffè?" è più educato dire "Mi puoi dare un caffè?". 10. Per essere educati, soprattutto al ristorante o al bar, è meglio usare il condizionale "vorrei" ("Vorrei un caffè, per favore") oppure aggiungere "per favore". Volere si usa anche in espressioni come "voler bene" ("Ti voglio bene" indica un affetto non romantico, e si usa con familiari e amici). E poi c'è "volerci", una forma derivata che si usa per esprimere il tempo o la quantità necessaria: per scoprire la differenza con metterci, leggi la guida su volerci e metterci. Sapere: il Verbo della Conoscenza 11. Entrambi si traducono spesso con "to know", ma in italiano si usano in modo diverso! Sapere si usa per fatti, informazioni e abilità ("So parlare italiano", "So che Roma è la capitale"). Conoscere si usa per persone, luoghi e cose con cui abbiamo familiarità ("Conosco Roma", "Conosco Marco"). Per approfondire, leggi la guida su potere, riuscire, sapere, conoscere. Curiosità: "sapere di" significa anche "avere il sapore o l'odore di qualcosa". Per esempio: "Questa pizza sa di formaggio", "Il vestito sa di fumo". Piccola sfumatura interessante: "ho saputo" al passato prossimo spesso significa "sono venuto a conoscenza di", cioè "ho scoperto". Esempio: "Ieri ho saputo che Marco si è sposato!".
