For me, someone who is totally new with the subject, I’m glad I learned a lot about this situation a was unaware off.
To the conclusion, I’ve got some thoughts, though (SPOILER!):
- To bad you did not get that video, that would have given answers to what it exactly said, and the state of mind of Karima
- for both it happened at a time where they would soon be reunited with their loved ones… coincidence? Is this common? Is it at that point that the weight on their shoulders is no longer to be ignored?
- to be at rest with the misunderstandings the night of the disappearance it is essential we hear from the sister in law, what she exactly said… for me it makes no sense she would call the police if her husband speaks English in much more understandable way, and to have the sister in law call while the husband and the brother are present is strange. I need to know more to not doubt the story that is told in the series. Why can’t she share the video? By not clearing all this things up, I’ve got the feeling the sister in law knew about a suicidal state of Karima, that it was not just a misunderstanding…
- what is the husbands reaction on the conclusion? Ok, he agreed to only one interview, but maybe just a written reaction on the conclusion of the expert? There are to many loose ends to stop after the brothers reaction
- is there ever been an investigation to the British gay if he was in Sweden or Canada at the time of the disappearances?
Finishing the podcast, I really did not feel like every stone was turned upside down to get the truth.
- A purse standing up in plain view? No way… you at least let it look a bit like it was accidentally lost, like hang it trapped over the fence, or on the edge of the pier where it fell open… Ok, you want to give a clue where they can find you… but a purse? Chances are it’s taken by strangers (as a theft or to return it to the owner) before searching people stumble upon it. You leave a shoe, or a scarf, not a purse… this is not a clue pointing to suicide to me.
