Episode 341: Apple Event, Calc app for iPad, and Apple ID password resets

Apple announced an event for May 7, 2024, which is widely expected to showcase new iPads ahead of the companies Worldwide Developers Conference in June. At the event, or perhaps in the next version of iPadOS, the company is expected to unveil a calculator app for the device for the first time. A wave of Apple ID password resets have plagued users, including me, over the past week or so.

Episode 340: Caitlin Clark, Spotify features, and Dumb comparisons

Episode 340: Caitlin Clark, Spotify features, and Dumb comparisons

It is a big week for women's basketball as college star Caitlin Clark went No. 1 in the WNBA draft. As incredible as her college career was, some fans are outraged at her salary. Dave and I dig into how much she's getting paid and why. My iPhone doesn't connect to my new truck using CarPlay, so I can't use Maps or Apple Music. This forced me into getting a subscription to Spotify and it has some really cool features. We are all looking (cautiously) forward to AI, but some of the new products are really bad. We take a look at one of them.

Episode 339: Eclipse, iPads, and Teens

The solar eclipse happened this week so Dave and I took a few minutes to talk about our experiences. The rumored iPad release date is getting closer—they may be released a couple of weeks before WWDC in June. The teen population has spoken—in a new survey, teens say they love their iPhones, but don't like Apple Music or Apple TV+.

Episode 338: Home Robotics, Switching to Android, and Apple TV+ Movies

After stopping development of its car project, Apple is now rumored to be entering the home robotics space. It will be interesting to see what that will be in the future. The New York Times gave one of its reporters the task of switching from iPhone to Android—it went okay, but it certainl wasn't smooth in all areas. Apple TV+ added a lot of movies from different studios to its service this week. They are all available for free if you subscribe to Apple TV+.

Episode 336: March Madness, Siri, and iPads

March Madness has begun! It's a big time for many sports fans, so Dave and I talk for a few minutes about it. We also talk about my continued frustration with Siri and why I'm so upset with Apple. If the rumors are true, Apple is expected to introduce new iPads soon. There could be a new iPad Air and Pro models, but not a new iPad mini.
