We're Alive

This podcast will have you hooked like LOST, and you will find yourself craving for the next episode. The production value is great. There's no narrator, everything happens from a first person perspective. The daily logs of the characters are used as the narrative device to tell the story, but the use of narration is very limited and you get the story from dialogue and action scenes. The funny thing is that this podcast, being an AUDIO only podcast, is a great example of the "show, don't tell" principle used in the visual arts: although there is nothing to actually show, being just audio, the production is so good that you feel like you are standing there, seeing what the characters see, smelling what they smell. No need to plainly tell what's going on via a narrator, it just happens in front of you. A final note which can be important for some listeners: everything has been already written and there is a final date set for the show: sometimes this projects just drift off and die, not this one: you can be sure you will see the end of the story.

I'm a person who generally listens to a lot of podcasts but tends to miss a few episodes here and there due to a lack of time or interest, not so with "We're Alive"... From episode 1 this series has me hooked, I listened to the entire first season in one day and now the weeks move ever so slow, waiting for new installments. If you like a good story, good acting and genuine suspense, you NEED to download this! after all, this much quality for free doesn't come by every day...
