    Day 8 - Righteousness by Faith

    On Day 8 we pray that Muslims would seek the Righteousness that only Jesus can provide. Transcript: Day eight, because fasting is a pillar of Islam, a Muslim who interrupts or cannot complete the fast is required to either complete the fast at a later date or pay a 'fidya' a ransom for each day missed. Let's pray that God's plan of salvation through Jesus' death is made known to Muslims who are seeking salvation from their sins, rather than through the burden of inevitably incomplete obedience.  Father your Word tells us that the Righteousness that you desire has been made known and that your righteousness is given to us through faith, by grace, in Jesus Christ whom you put forth as a sacrifice of atonement for our sins. This is astonishing news! Good News! And we ask that you would have mercy on Muslims who are seeking righteousness through fasting by revealing to them your son Jesus Christ who is our righteousness. Lord, raise up workers who will proclaim a faithful gospel witness in the Muslim World. We ask this in your name Jesus. Amen. Today, consider Meditating on: Matthew 11:28-30.  If you know a Muslim, Ask with the intent to Listen: Do you fast? Why, or why not?

    Day 7 - Spiritual Hunger

    On Day 7 we pray and ask that the Lord would turn physical hunger into spiritual hunger. Transcript: Day 7, The second meal of each day during Ramadan is called Iftar, begun at sunset, and for many is the grand event of the day, usually a feast to satiate the hunger of 12+ hours without food and water. Let’s pray that a hunger for the True Bread from Heaven be deeply felt by Muslims during this season that no amount of physical feasting will be able to satisfy. Father, we look to your Word that tells us that Jesus is the bread of life and that all who come to him will not hunger. This hunger is not a physical hunger but a spiritual hunger; so today we pray and ask that as Muslims fast, you would transform their physical hunger into spiritual hunger. That as the day wanes on and the Iftar draws near, they would find themselves hungering for real relationship with you, their creator and savior and that even the fasting of the second meal would leave them even hungrier than before until they become aware that their spiritual hunger can only be satisfied in you Lord Jesus. In your name we pray - Amen. Today, consider meditating on: John 6:35.  If you know a Muslim, Ask them: Do you experience spiritual hunger? If so, what do you do to be fed?

    Day 6 - Walk in the Light

    On Day 6 we pray that Muslims would leave darkness and walk in the light of God's revelation. Transcript: Day 6: During the month of Ramadan, Muslims will wake up in the dark to eat and drink before first light- when their fast begins. A wakeup call will sound from the local mosque, signaling the faithful to get up and be nourished and filled for the long day ahead. The irony is this is all done in the dark, racing against the light. Let’s pray for Muslims to stop living in the dark and to hear God’s call to walk in the Light of Jesus, where abundance and new mercies are our daily bread.  Father, we lift up Muslims to you today and ask that you would free them from their Darkness and be the Light that shines in their lives. As the call to wake up sounds from the mosque each morning, may the call of Your Spirit also be heard  and may the hungry and seeking wake up. We pray in agreement the words of Zechariah over Muslims to be awakened “because of the tender mercy of our God, Whereby the sunrise shall visit [them] from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide [their] feet into the way of peace”(Lk. 1:78-79). Let your call of salvation be heard over Muslims today we pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.  Today, consider meditating on Luke 1:67-79.  If you know a Muslim consider asking them, with the intent to listen, “What does God expect of his faithful? How does one live a faithful life?”

    Day 5 - Faith Comes by Hearing

    transcript: Day 5: In mosques, each night 1/30th of the Qur’an is read aloud in Arabic during Ramadan so that all of it can be heard within the thirty days. The problem is that 80% of Muslims, especially those in South Asia, do not understand Arabic, making these readings essentially meaningless. The Bible tells us that Faith comes by Hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Let’s pray that a deep frustration over the lack of understanding would create a hunger to know God’s Word and the God who has spoken it. Oh Father, we know that you are a God who loves to communicate and to make yourself known and you have made yourself known through your Word and through your Son Jesus Christ. Lord, during this month, we do ask that you would stir in Muslims a desire to know their creator, to read your Word, and a hunger for a meaningful relationship with you - one that can only be had through Jesus. Amen - Let it be so.  Today, consider meditating on: John 1:1-18.  If you know a Muslim, consider asking them, with the intent to Listen: Do you read God’s Word? Why or why not?

    Day 4 - Poor in Spirit

    On Day 4 we pray for weakness over might and that Muslims would find themselves at the end of their own effort and in need of God's help. Transcript: Day 4, In Islamic tradition, in addition to fasting, the month of Ramadan is also seen as a month of victory. Muslims often idolize Muhammad’s Uncle, Hamza, known as (Asadullah) “The Lion of Allah.” because of his might and military prowess. Many of his achievements were accomplished during Ramadan so his life is frequently used as an example of the spiritual and physical strength required of a believer during the fast. Let’s Pray that instead of might, Muslims would experience weakness and come to see that it is “not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord.” So Father, we ask exactly that, that during this month of prayer and fasting, Muslims would find themselves at the end of their rope, weak and in need of spiritual help. Poor in Spirit. In this place, come Father and show them your power to save through your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and turn the hearts of Muslims to you. Today, consider Meditating on: Titus 2:11-14. If you know a Muslim, consider asking them: Are you Sunni or Shia? What are elements of the faith that are meaningful to you?

    Day 3 - Lasting Peace

    On Day 3 we pray for a lasting peace and unity over Muslims. Transcript: Day 3: Some Muslims commemorate the peace treaty of the “Battle of the Camel” between Aisha and Ali on this day. The Sunni and Shia divide was held off here with a temporary peace. That peace did not last and to this day tensions between the two sects draw a sharp line down the face of Islam. We know that peace can only be found in the One whose name is Prince of Peace and God with us. Let’s pray for Muslims to find true peace and unity in that Name.  Father, we pray today for the Name of Jesus to be high and lifted up over Muslims. We remember that no amount of fasting and religious rigor could ever bring the peace and unity that our hearts long for. We pray for Muslims to seek your face and find peace from their striving, tension, pain, and sins. Jesus, You broke down the wall of hostility with your own Body- bringing true unity to your followers. We pray that you would do the same for Muslims today- uniting them to your Family through your own blood. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.  Today, consider meditating on Ephesians 2:14. If you know a Muslim, consider asking them with the intent to listen: What divides people from others and how can there be lasting peace?

    Day 2 - God's History

    Day 2 - We pray and ask that Muslims find an interest to read the scriptures and learn God's redemptive story through the prophets like Abraham, Moses and David. Transcript: Day 2 - Because Muslims believe the Qu’ran was revealed during the month of Ramadan there is an increased focus on reading it, even aiming to read all of it, during the month, approximately 20 pages a day. Let’s pray for Muslims that they would be compelled to read the true stories of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus from the Torah and the Injil. And that what they read penetrates their hearts. Father, thank you for the revelation of your story and history of your pursuit of us, your creation. We pray and ask that as Muslims look to their sacred text that it would compel them to seek after you, YHWH, the true and living God and that the narratives of your prophets like Noah and Abraham would show them what it means to have a relationship with you and how to have it through Jesus Chrsit. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Today, consider spending some time Meditating on: Matthew 5:17-20.  If you know a Muslim, consider asking them, with the intent to listen: What is required to fulfill God’s Law?

    Day 1 - Generous Grace

    Day 1 Today we pray for The Generous Grace of God to be made known and recognized by Muslims. Transcript: Day 1 - Ramadan is traditionally split into three equal sections of ten. The first ten days focus on repenting of sins and asking forgiveness of Allah. An appropriate greeting to a Muslim throughout Ramadan is “Ramadan Kareem” which implies, “have a generous Ramadan. Today let’s pray for Muslims to encounter generous grace unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.  “Father, we thank you that your salvation is not by our own good works but only according to your mercy and abundant grace. We pray today for Muslims according to Titus 3, that you would pour out your Spirit in full measure through your Son, Jesus Christ, that they might know your justification by grace and become heirs of the kingdom and live in the hope of eternal life.  We pray this in your name Jesus. Amen. Today, consider spending some time Meditating on: John 1:14-17.  If you know a Muslim consider asking them, with the intent to listen:  What is grace and how is it received from God in Islam?
